I have a 2016 GT (5.0, 6 speed) with 70k miles. I've noticed when burning out, after a little while it cuts engine power and you have to just roll out of it. I've mostly noticed it once I get rolling forward a little but. I have tried turning traction control off, and I've tried turning advance trac off by holding the tcs button down for like 7 seconds. Does anyone know what the issue is with this and if there is a fix? My assumption is holding the gas and brake down at the same time for a while may trip a safety function to cut engine power, and it especially happens once you start moving forward. I don't think it has anything to do with an actual mechanical issue, as the car runs perfect and shown no signs of anything being wrong with it. Is it something you need a programmer to fix?

Yes. It's in the stock tune. It's a brake override...and it has a timer too.

Time for a line lock if burnouts are your thing.

It’s called BOA (brake over accelerator) and is a safety feature intended to allow the driver to disable unintended power just by pushing the brake. It’s a result of tfe big DBW unintended acceleration scare from the early 2000’s and yes, it’s pretty easy to defeat in the tune.
