Most after markets don’t have pins, just double sided tape...I replaced the F150 badges on my truck with blacked out ones, had to adjust the placement to cover the pin holes but it looks good

Maybe I read your question a little different.

Yes, they are ā€˜pinned’, but the pins are only for alignment, they do not secure the badge in anyway.

i.e. the pins don’t ā€˜clip in’, neither do you need access to the back of the fender to release them etc.

Be patient getting the old badges off, mine were stuck really well ... I had hoped to keep the originals as a souvenir, but they were in pieces at the end of the process (I know of others who’s badges came off in the same way).

You can remove the original badges intact with a bit of care and patience (I did), but cleaning off the adhesive residue is a real PITA.

Good to know. I will let the dealership deal with it.

The Pony isn't terrible, basically you remove the radiator top cover, that plastic piece with like 10 or so push pins (a forked trim tool is very helpful).

Then, if you can get your arm in there - and it helps to push the radiator back a bit - you can reach in with some snips/small pliers, and break off the pins/clips really easily, then it just pulls right off.

The replacement parts does use clips, just some 3M, and the cutout is sort of "self-aligning" so you don't really need pins in it.

Some said to break or drill the old badge off as it’s pinned and you can’t get to the back of it easily on the 18+. Once done glue or tape the new badge on.

My front end had to come off so I did it properly, I got new (stainless) lock washers from eBay :

Being a bleeder ............ I will purchase the parts and let my servicing dealers trim shop do it. at $48 hr. Less expensive that a trip to the emergency room.
