So the horsepower/torque numbers for the Coyote V8 are based on using 93 octane? If so, I wonder if anyone knows what the numbers would be based on 91 octane that we have in California? Is 93 vs 91 octane a significant variance to lower the hp/tq numbers? I'm guessing so. Thoughts? :shrug:

I am thinking it's not that big of a deal. I wish we had 93 octane though! :cheers:

It was worth 8rwhp on my 2011 E92 M3 which is also rated at 93 octane, however more important the cars graph was smoother and torque was fatter throughout the rpm range. Also the fuel we get here in California is not the same 91 the rest of the free nation gets. I run 3 gallons per tankful of VP 101unleaded that I can get near by.

BTW, the smell of race gas when you are catless or running hfc's is wonderful..

The EU version is specified with 95 octane and makes it 412hp. 95EU match 91US octane. Whether the power loss is only due to the gasoline is currently unknown.
Some dyno runs would be cool...
