401a package on a 2015 GT

I just got a new 2015 GT convertible with the 401a package which gives you the Shaker Pro audio system with 12 speakers and sub woofer. While looking through the owners manual I couldn't find anything about the Shaker Pro audio system. The salesman didn't tell me much more about the system other than it had 12 speakers and a sub woofer in the trunk. Were can I look to find the specs about the system such as watts and if it has a built in hard drive?

except if you never want to worry about that stuff(my days of doing that is over), 401a is great. sure aftermarket is obviously better but if you don't wanna pull panels and speakers and all that stuff but want something halfway decent it's good

I had a 13 convertible and it didn't have the Subwoofer in the trunk. It sounded much much better than the 15 with the sub. I also had a 2004 GT premium vert without the sub in the trunk and it too sounded better. I'm disappointed with the 15 sound system.

I've got the 401A and it sounds decent until I plug in my ipod, then it's weak as hell...not enough volume or thump.

Try putting your music on a USB drive or SD card. I play from a 32 GB USB drive, and it sounds great. The voice control is really handy, too.

turn volume up on that ipod and mess with the ipod's frequency settings. sometimes it's defaulted to flat so sounds terrible with anything.

I'm pretty happy with the shaker pro system. It sounds 10x better than what my Camry had, and probably just a notch below the Harmon kardon system I was looking at in a 335i.

Whatever you do, do not judge the Shaker Pro system by listening to Sirius - they compress the hell out of the audio and it will sound bad on any system. Bluetooth streaming is less bad, but still less than ideal. The best sound will come from high quality MP3 files on a USB stick or SD card. Or from a CD if you still have them...

I dont have the Shaker pro system, but what I noticed with my base system, is that when I listen to the radio the system is "Ok", but it sounds much better, and is good with MP3s or CDs.
That's the first time I experience such a difference due to the source, but I listen mostly to music on my USB stick in the armrest now

+1on this^^^. One exception, we have a Dodge Grand Caravan that has a decent system including a sub, and it actually sounds good with Sirius. Good enough in fact, I am actually considering renewing the Sirius. If I do, it'd be the first time ever for me.
