  1. Convertibles Photos Thread

From a recent road trip through Yosemite to the eastern Sierra Nevada. Got pretty good mileage too on the long highway stretches (~27-28 MPG).
  2. Not driving much - oil change?

Thanks for the feedback, I'm inclined to change too - I plan to keep the car as long as I can. I've been doing the changes at our local Ford dealer and they charged ~$120 for the "Works" last year with some promo deal (for full synthetic oil) - seems reasonable to me given the amount of oil the...
  3. Not driving much - oil change?

I don't drive our 2015 convertible GT much, but have been changing the oil once a year with full synthetic at the dealer when the oil life indicator alerted me (typically right at 12 months given my low mileage usage). Bought it new in 2015 and it still only has ~22k miles on the odometer...
  4. Passenger side blend door actuator fails once a year

It is strange but not sure it's rodents - the passenger actuator is right next to the footwell, clearly visible with no damage and no signs of rodents. And everything else works fine. I assume it's some wiring that is shorting somewhere sporadically or just really poorly designed actuators?
  5. Passenger side blend door actuator fails once a year

Basically once a year from 2017 onward, the passenger side blend door actuator has failed, causing temperature control on the passenger side to not work correctly (e.g. cold air blowing no matter what temperature you select). I have an extended warranty with Ford, and they've replaced each time...
  6. Dead battery - get into trunk?

Thanks - yeah. I ended up replacing the original battery a number of years ago, and then after a trip last summer, came back to a dead battery again (which was now just over three years old at the point, so out of warranty). I'm fairly certain the alternator is fine, battery just doesn't like...
  7. Blend door actuator - on my fifth one

I have a 2015 GT convertible and just had the blend door actuator on the passenger side (part #FR3Z-19E616-E) replaced for the fourth time after not being able to control the temperature on that side. Some googling suggests this part was redesigned before the 2015 model year and this a common...
  8. Problem joining MCA - anyone from the Mustang Club of America here?

I am pondering a Mach E later in the year, and was planning on X plan pricing as well. Also, I was able to get in touch with the MCA admin who was very helpful in completing my registration successfully.
  9. Problem joining MCA - anyone from the Mustang Club of America here?

Update: I am now in touch with someone who is helping me sort through the website problems. Still not registered, but at least I've made contact now.
  10. Problem joining MCA - anyone from the Mustang Club of America here?

Here is some info from their website about member benefits: https://mustang.org/about/benefits/
  11. Problem joining MCA - anyone from the Mustang Club of America here?

I tried to join MCA about a week and a half ago on their website, and made it through the Paypal screen where they took my $35, but then the next step where I was supposed to create my account failed with an error message and said I should contact them. I've tried using their web form, emailing...
  12. A/C Evaporator Factory Defect

They just called to claim a rodent chewed the compressor cable. $900 non-covered repair!?
  13. A/C Evaporator Factory Defect

I have 15k on a 2015 GT convertible, now have no A/C and also feels slightly warmer on the passenger side. I previously had the blend door actuator replaced (back then it was clearly cold one side/hot on the other). I have the premium ESP with no deductible, so expect to be covered, but when I...
  14. Default alarm setting?

yup, nothing about the default setting (that I could find), just a general description of what the alarm does
  15. Default alarm setting?

I have the convertible with the enhanced security package. I want to set the default alarm setting to passive only (to save the battery as I don't drive it daily), but want the option of easily changing to active sensors in some cases, so I left "ask every time" checked. But I noticed that...
  16. Disconnect trunk light?

My battery (2015 convertible GT) was dead again after only being parked for a week. Since I found the truck unlatched, I suspect one of our remotes inadvertently triggered the trunk release and then the light in the trunk stayed on. I'm thinking of just pulling the light bulb out in the trunk...
  17. Satellite antenna fault

It was fixed under warranty by the dealer - but it took a few tries. Their first attempt to replace the antenna itself on the trunk lid didn't fix it, so they ended up replacing the wiring from the antenna to the receiver itself, and that fixed it. But they had to take apart the dash to do the...
  18. Old man Mustang with his kid at school

Parked next to this guy today (my GT is on the right after dropping the kids off...)
  19. It was a bit warm in Silicon Valley last week...

Indeed, even at the height of the heat wave last week here in Silicon Valley, it was ~105, but with low humidity. We don't have AC in our house and our kitchen hit 92, but with fans it was tolerable. I used to live in DC and those same temperatures with humidity would be completely different...
