Sorry if this thread exists I couldn’t locate anything on it.
This is a bit of a long one, I’ll try and keep it to the point. 2017-manual. Driving Highway speed, goes into limp mode, trailered it home, diagnostics led me to the timing system. Further diagnosed to the timing chain idler bearing. It seized up, skipped a couple teeth and threw some crank/cam correlation codes. Pulled it all apart, inspected valves and pistons (no damage) replaced all the potentially affected timing system parts and put everything back together. All timing marks lined up perfectly. TDC on Cylinder #1 reflects intake valves just getting ready to open. All good. Currently Cranks, no start. A few small backfires out the intake when cranked over. Pulled plugs again, all 6 cylinders full of fuel and flooded. Drained cylinders and thew the compression tester on, very low compression if any on all 6 holes? Nothing I’m aware of explains the symptoms and
I am currently stumped on this one.
Any advice from the crew here would be appreciated. (Pic1-new gear installed and correctly timed,pic2-toasted idler, pic 3- old gear)
