Will a 275/40 fit on a PP front wheel without rubbing?

Not really worried about aesthetics as this is just for winter tires.

I saw a guy running 275 35 on his front pp wheel today. He plans to bump it up to 285

Steering feedback might suffer going wider.

Depends on the tire. Some tires will bulge making it look stupid on a skinny 9 inch wheel (and make steering sloppy). Some will just ft perfect. You should definitely ask one of the tire/wheel guys here before buying any tires which brands of 275s will run the right size to fit the 9 inch better.

Virtually all 275/40 tires have 9" as the minimum recomended wheel width.

I know it'll fit on the wheel, I was just wondering if there way any potential for rubbing since it'll be 10mm wider on each side

275's should fit without rubbing, even being a 40 series tire. also the tires were bridgestone 71rs.

Some people on here are running 285 on 20's in the front. take a look at those tires then compare the specs on tire rack. Or a vendor on here will probably be able to chime and and answer you.
