So I recently picked up a '21 GT. I've put just shy of 400 miles on it and experienced the rpm drop at a stop twice now (currently schooling myself up on that one). Figured I'd check for codes and see if anything is there. Sure enough, it has a pending fault code of P2015. My google search came back with pretty much nothing on the S550 platform, so I figured I'd seek some thoughts, suggestions, and advice here. The code is for the bank 1 IMR position sensor/switch circuit/performance. I took a gander under the hood at the back of the manifold, and all the vacuum lines look great, all connections (that I could see) are plugged in, and nothing looked abnormal. I guess my next course of action would be to remove the manifold and check the rod/actuator. I guess this is why some folks do the IMRC lockout? Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

IMRC issues - lots of threads on this subject matter. The IMRC rod is known to break on the intake, which causes drivability issues. Here’s an original DIY thread on how to fix it: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/possibly-broken-imrc-shaft.183221/#post-3689879

and here’s the latest (better) way of fixing the IMRC shaft issue:

Check harnesses for any rodent damage too - rodents love to chew up vehicle body harnesses. Check connector pins for any damage or to make sure the pins are seated in the connector all the way (do a tug test, if the wire pulls out - connector is damaged where it is supposed to secure the pin).

I would not suspect a 21 to have IMRC issues, but the IMRC system in general has been problematic since it debuted in the original Lincoln MKVIII 4.6 DOHC; that engine design was then revised for use in the 1996+ SVT Cobras. Even 30+ years later the IMRC design is still garbage as it was when it was first introduced…. LOL.
