Well this sucks. I doubt it'll make any real-world difference though.

I wonder what is being changed in 2022 to change the HP and torque specs?
Hi Bradley, welcome to the forum. Good idea to check new threads before posting. Yours is like the 4th/5th thread on this. Just keeps everyone on the same page.

Also and sorry if Iā€™m coming off as me being an ass but the answer to your question is the first sentence of the second paragraph. After youā€™ve been on here for awhile youā€˜ll understand. The repetition on some of these threads will drive you nuts. :like:

I wonder if its an actual change or just a test change. I remember back in 1993 when this happened, it was more of a change in the way the cars were tested than an actual change in output.

Somewhere else on here I saw it hypothesized that the US market cars could be getting some emissions related restrictions. Kinda makes sense for ford to make everything the same across the board. Does seem odd to do it in the middle of a run right before a new gen comes out though.

Yes I just read the road and track article regarding this and they mentioned it was an emissions related item.

What I do find funny is the fact that Ford kept us in the dark the whole time knowing that in 2022 emissions related item was going to force them to drop their ratings.

Rest assured the cars will drive identically and you couldn't possibly tell a difference.

They went about this differently in Europe. In my country they simply cut allocation from 180 Mustangs in 2020 to 85 in 2021... That makes a bigger dent than 10 hp and it's a lot more painful to see.

Thanks for confirming that. They probably didnā€™t want a mad rush to order ā€˜21 Mach 1ā€™s they knew they couldnā€™t build.
