Hello,

Any idea when the new configurator is supposed to be up on Ford.com? Aren’t they starting production the beginning of January? Haven’t see a new brochure for 2021 yet either....what gives? Thanks!!

Lol 2021 models will start being delivered in March. If Ford can find a way to screw something up, they will.

My RHD GT order is due for "Segmentation" in 4 weeks, and it is referenced on the Ford Order Confirmation as a MY21.5 ! Very strange there is absolutely no Brochures or any info on the MY21, and they are building them. Cant be exactly the same as the 2020, as we know there are changes to colours, so what else?

Actually they already building the 21's. I have a VIN number already for my new 21 GT. Got an update today that said it was built. Next is when it will ship, then finally delivered to my dealer.

Congrats', you have a car ! Mine is yet to be built - at least 5-6 weeks away. You will find the tenth digit on your VIN is an "M" which indicates a 2021 Build (L=2020). However as you probably know this has no relevance to Fords designation of its "MY" (Model Year), which is usually a Compliance Date from Oct/Nov from the previous year.

I've seen the MY21.5 referenced for UK cars, too. I can only assume they are using this as the builds are so late this year. Usually we would have expected the '21MY cars to begin production in late Sept/early Oct, but this was pushed back to 4th Jan (I'm sure its all related to covid).

From a post in the GT500 section, it appears Ford intend to get back on track with '22MY builds starting this October.

As to why no online builder? No idea, but it's the same for the UK.

In my experience, especially with trucks Ford has always been late releasing next years vehicles. I am 50 and have bought at least 50 new vehicles probably more. Usually buy Chevrolet or Ford and GM has always had there new models a round October or so but not Ford. It's nothing new in my experience for Ford not to have the current models on the lot yet. Even the 21 F150's are just starting to hit the ground.

because a few thousand (all 'early' production) are sitting around waiting for "quality checks". They'll be 5+ months old before they even make it to the dealer lot. I guess we should be so lucky the Mustang is the ONLY product for 20/21 they haven't royally screwed up on launch. Fingers crossed.

Wut???

Ford Mustangs are usually released a model year early. I.E. the 2020 model year cars came out in 2019. And now, right when the 2021 cars should have been on the lots of several months, they're completely missing.

I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) Ford does that to help with re-sale values.
