Look at a Bullitt dyno, identical engine. Even with an 93oct ECU tune from Lund or James you're barely getting another 20-25WHP, and OEM tuning can't go that aggressive due to the standards they have to meet. So you're not going to suddenly have the same WHP as a tuned car with the same engine.

There are vids of shops trying to say the Bullitt made over 450whp too, but those are WAY the out lyer. (example: 2019 Bullitt Stock Dyno Run - YouTube )

MOST dynos are in the ~430 range, give or take 5.
So they are dynoing out at what 18+ a10 cars are?

Average manual Mach1 I expect to be around 430-435whp, average A10 to be about 420-425 based on the difference between the manual and auto regular GT's. Bullitts only make about 10-12ish whp more than GT's do. Not really any huge change in power. Just change to the power band.

That’s kind of shocking. My 20 a10 I can’t remember the exact number but it was over 420 bone stock. I really thought the would have been 440ish

Depends on the dyno, and its calibration. You cant compair you and your car on a dyno to a guy 5 states away on another dyno.

That why you have to look at like 10+ charts to see a more average range. Most auto GT's i can find are in the 415-420 range, and most manuals are in the 420-425 range. So based on the Bullitt dynos your going to see like I said an average of about 435whp for the 6spd and a bit less for the auto.

But really all a dyno does is give YOU a baseline of YOUR car on THAT dyno to gauge what you picked up when you start doing mods. In my 2003 Mach1 I could put down 300whp on one dyno then drive 15 miles and put down 295 on another dyno then go to another shop and make either 290 or 305. thats a range of 290-305 all on the same car on the same day, just different dynos.

I am definitely going to try hard not to FI the Mach 1. When I look back at the Bullitt, it was an exceptionally tight, quiet and fun car. The blower overdoes it.

Those numbers for a Bullitt and M 1 are good. If mine needs "help" I am going the ring and pinion route. 430 RWHP with good tires and gearing on a stick should do very low 12s. Good enough.

Great video, OP!

Dyno numbers have become so popular now - but in reality the variables are so numerous, I rarely pay attention to peak numbers anymore. All I care about is the power curve under peak (the power you use every day when your driving your car).

As mentioned - the only true valuable comparison would be comparing different cars on the same dyno, same operator, same correction factor and comparable weather / temp / humidity.

Trap speed in the 1/4 mile is one thing that's always pretty consistent, at least in my experience, when looking at HP gains / mods etc.

I'm actually considering having a local guy dyno tune my '19 GT with below peak power gains in mind.....
