I’d like to hear your opinion on what happened. You were quite convinced on a lighter weight, did the project deviate from initial draft? Cost cutting?Seriously WTF Ford. The ZL1 1LE is 400 lbs lighter than the base 500. 400!!! 320 lighter than the estimate of the carbon track pack!
I don't even know how they got it that heavy. The stuff we know about adds up to a car at or +/- maybe 25-30 lbs from 4000.I’d like to hear your opinion on what happened. You were quite convinced on a lighter weight, did the project deviate from initial draft? Cost cutting?
4225 is quite heavy.
I just went and looked at the 2014 GT500 and I forgot it was 3845.Seriously WTF Ford. The ZL1 1LE is 400 lbs lighter than the base 500. 400!!! 320 lighter than the estimate of the carbon track pack!
Just curious where you got your estimate for an 80 pound weight savings between a Base GT500 and a CFTP optioned car?Seriously WTF Ford. The ZL1 1LE is 400 lbs lighter than the base 500. 400!!! 320 lighter than the estimate of the carbon track pack!
Lol, you are insane if you think this is "good" this car is not anywhere near the size of a challenger. And if anything the car weighs close to the zeta chassis gen 5 camaro zl1 convertible. Yup the heaviest camaro ever and its convertible (naturally heavier). The weight is actually good, all things considered, but I'm sure plenty of us internet experts could have made it lighter without the price skyrocketing. Instead of complaining just submit your CV to Ford and show us how it's done.
Maybe if Ford themselves had made it lighter before skyrocketing the price ($100k) then we wouldn't be hereThe weight is actually good, all things considered, but I'm sure plenty of us internet experts could have made it lighter without the price skyrocketing. The problem is they're tacking on $30k to the price of an (already expensive) GT350R and didn't make a single effort to make the car any lighter. Lazy engineeringSo the difference between the 350R and the 500CF is around 445lbs.
Blower,, coolers and all their fluids, would be at least 200lbs on their own?
Heavier brakes (unknown difference),
Heavier gearbox...(110lbs difference)....
What else? Extra bracing? Larger, heavier-duty drivetrain components?
Not sure what the problem is if you're after a legit OEM 760hp car that can run many tanks dry on a track and still keep your warranty.
