I'm hoping to buy a new Mustang GT this weekend. Wondering if I should risk waiting a couple of weeks? I'm looking at a PP2 GT with active exhaust, and navigation, a PP1 GT with the auto 10, MagnaRide and active exhaust, and a PP2 GT Premium with exhaust, navigation, and B&O sound, and I wonder how long they will last.

might want to call your local dealership tonight and see if you can twist their arm good and hard and get under the end-of-month quota drive.

For example here is a GT+6MT+PP1+AE+MR = 36k/45 which is 20% off.
A ruby Base EB+Black Appearance = 21.3/28.8 which is 26% off.

It's a good time to buy.

From the article:
Any way you cut it, $3,250 off MSRP on an Ecoboost is a solid deal.
11-12% off is a "solid deal"? What a total farce! F150 around here are regularly listed at 30+% off.

Hell, here's a 11% off deal for a 2020 GT/PP2 car and Recaro seats that barely touched down on the lot!

I bought today and fairly happy with my deal. MSRP was $42,040 base GT with A10 and Performance Pack. They threw in 5 window's tint ($299) for no up charge.
$35700 OTD! Probably not the best deal ever but close to the best deal around today.
I'm not going to lose any sleep over the deal.

BTW, this was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I turned down a deal in Oklahoma City for the same optioned car at $31,998 but you had to finance with Ford Motor Credit $1500 off and had to trade something in $3000 off.
First I didn't have a trade and the trade deal started to stink when the GM told me he needed to make $3k off my trade anyway before he would offer me anything decent on my trade. The finance came with fishy interest rates despite the fact that my credit score was quite respectable.

I too had great luck on Halloween (10/31). Dealership was offering quite a few discounts in addition to the Ford $2,750 rebate. MSRP was just under $50k (PP1, Magneride, 401A, etc), final end price before taxes was $40,511, or about 18% off. (I don't include taxes because they vary so much from location to location! And with my trade in, I only paid taxes on $25k)

They were offering an additional $1,500 "trade in rebate." But when they came back and offered me $1,600 less than what I was expecting, I got up to walk out. Apparently it had been a very slow month for them, so they grabbed me as I walked out the door and agreed to what I wanted.

With the 2020s on the lots, dealers are looking to offload the 2019s. There are a lot of rebates to be had, and at the end of the month dealers are wanting to make deals!

I’ll share my deal...
41,500 is the top number you’ll see with the 2750 rebate.

My cost was 43,740 OTD. I took it. Sticker was 49,135

How did you only pay $500 for sales tax? What state are you in?

he had a trade in. typically you only pay tax on the new car less the trade in value. so he paid tax on approximately 8k; the new car price less the trade in allowance.

You are correct, but that is not the case here at least on that sheet....about $34k was the owed amount.

'owed' on a loan has nothing to do with TAX calculation in jurisdictions that allow this formula. The traded-in car already had tax assessed. So instead of double-charging (like in VA, not to mention *annual* property taxes!!) they took the face value of the new and old cars and calculated the difference (about $8650) and charged tax (6%) on that.

edit - The math in this case is:
44250 + 999 + 132.95 + 249 - 37000 = 8630.95 * 0.06 = 517.85
which is close enough. A couple of the other small line items is taxable, apparently.

Ah ok, that makes sense. I have never traded in a car that I owed money on, so this was a new one. NJ is the same as FL it seems.
