Not bad at all, I'm around $38-40k for a well optioned one.

According to Autoblog, it went live prematurely. It will go live again next week.

Way too expensive for a small(er) truck. They missed the boat. It'll also be heavier or just barely lighter than many F150s.

I agree. I know it's not apples to apples, but with the current incentives it seems to make the mid size truck a tough sell. While I was able to play with the build and price yesterday one equipped the way I wanted came out to around 38K. My brother in law just bought an 18 F-150 Crew Cab XLT 4X4, 302A, Nav, power sliding rear window. MSRP on that truck was 49K, he got it for like 39 and change. Unless you are totally limited by space, that makes the Ranger a hard sell IMO

Well that was fully optioned so it "could" be much cheaper. Don't all the other mid-size trucks fit into that price range?

Even the base is too expensive (and big).

$24k is too expensive for a base truck? I'm not defending the Ranger as I would personally get a Tacoma if in the market but it seems reasonable to me based on others in that segment.

Thing is, this new Ranger is about the size of the full size trucks from 15-ish years ago. In other words, about the right size for my needs. Maybe even a little big. Price range seems about right to me.

Where they blew it in my mind is not offering a regular cab short box in every trim. Dumb. At least you can still get that with an F150.... :frown:

The real problem here is that this thread is fakenews™ since it re-directs to the Fiesta build and price.

We don't want no fuckin' Fiestas round here ya hurd?

Agreed...seems to be the right size.
Based on the F150 price points, Ranger pricing seems competitive for it’s segment.

Rumor has it that a new, unibody, Focus-based small truck will arrive in 2020.
Think Subaru Baja \ BRAT type of vehicle.
This will be the new entry-level Ford “pickup”.

My gripe with trucks these days is they are just too darn expensive in general. You have the ruggedness of a truck with the option of having an interior that rivals an upscale BMW or Benz. Bring back the 90s pickups with bare necessities and lower the price.
