Heh, I've never even noticed if mine flashed or not.
Me either, perfect excuse to take her out of the garage tonight and see!

I looked this morning...mine doesn't flash. At least not during the day. Maybe that's a lights on kind of deal.

I always remote start mine, since it's in the garage I'll get in and start it this time and see what happens.

Ok, looked again tonight. Definitely pulses. It's pretty cool, and if it hadn't been mentioned in this thread I would have NEVER noticed.

So I’m confused because this sounds like it was supposed to be a new feature Ford is promoting on the 2018 refresh, but my 2015’s starter button does the same pulsing flash when I push it without holding the brake pedal (for accessory power only, no engine start). I looked again to be sure, and it flashes at the same speed as shown in that Ford video posted here earlier.

It's one of those mods that I can live without. Looks nice, but for something that I don't look at, and only touch for a fraction of a second, unless it was cheap. Like $25 cheap.

I don't have to press mine. I got in the car last night and looked down, and it was pulsing like the video. Either way, even if it doesn't pulse, it would make a nice finishing touch type mod to the 15-17's. We just need a part number.

Buying a Center Console Circuit Board is gonna run you several hundred dollars.

(You’re actually buying the Bezel with Mode Switches, which interfaces with the Circuit Board underneath)

It’s how bad do you want it.

Just for a Button, $25 is good. $250 or more is not.

This is what I've done with the 2015. Used a 2016 Lincoln Button that has a Cigarette Lighter-Sized Socket. I had to Cut up a combo of the 350 Button and the Lincoln Button to make it work. Still works like a 2015-17 Button though. Not up to spending the extra on the Circuit Board for the 18+ Pulse - Yet! Maybe as one of the last Mods, where I need more functions of the 21+ Cars.

you can see what the parts look like here:

Has anyone had any luck with this. At this point 18’s have to be rolling into the junkyards where one could just remove the button.

This is more about the Circuit Board and functions than the button, but yes, you could get one from the yard.

Of course, in a Mustang, it might cost more in time and gas than ordering one online.

so basically a new circuit board is required then even if we don't want the new functions of the button such as the pulsating light. That sucks I was hoping for just a simple button swap, maybe one of the aftermarket companies will make a nicer looking button that isn't the gt350 one.

Not having taken apart a 2017, I don’t know what the differences are, but the button shouldn’t be s problem. Just swap it out by pulling it or take apart the console and do it the Ford recommended way. The LEDs are part of the Circuit Board, I believe, so it doesn’t matter what button is on top. It just changes what is seen or not seen through the windows in the button.

Ok I’ll do some more research then and I might be the guinea pig for this in that case
