Does anyone know of a proper magazine road test?
What's proper anyway? I have 500+old mags sitting around. Waste of space and paper these days. Only time I buy a mag now, is for long haul flights. Lots of driving impressions/reviews/400m times are online/U-tube etc.

If you want to buy a set of rotary forged wheels here you're looking at AUD$600 to 700 per wheel.

For forged wheel AUD$2500 is not too farfetched.

This raises an interesting point, are the dealers just saying 'forged'? Or specifying flow or rotary forged.

RSPEC-015 where can you get proper forgies at that price in Australia, for a 15-17 Mustang? JDM all day every day for sure...

Do tell! :clap2:

You forget the LCT, 33% on top of that giving (and GST);

mag ride $3400
forged wheels $2100
Recaro $3600

not miles away from what the dealer said.
LCT starts at 65000 (not including on roads) for this year so depending on your spec you may avoid it, Im expecting not to have to pay that, and Im betting ford au will be trying real hard to it avoid as much as possible as well

Ya, Vert buyers pay Mustang tax, LCT, GST and VAT
Vert Add Tax.
Not a word anywhere on pricing or vert availability in Oz.
Maybe they won't bring them.
Wouldn't surprise me at all sometime soon
1. if they stop RHD production,
2. or the export program (Mexico/Canada excepted).

One wonders why the LCT still exists as it's original purpose was to protect the local car industry.

If they stop bringing vert's, instant classic. But they will of course. When the top goes down, the fun goes up.

Ford are saying the optional wheel is a forged wheel based on other sub-forums so I would take it that the wheels are forged.

My reference to the $2500 was in the context of the cost of the wheels as an option. This is essentially an extra-over cost for the forged wheels vs the standard wheels. Ford would definitely be getting them at the best price possible.

I don't think a set of forged wheels could be bought here for $2500; when I was looking at "Forge" wheels for the R-Spec I used to have, the wheels were $4500 for a set and even looking at some of the popular brands on the American sites it's at least AUD$1000 per wheel, especially when getting into custom offsets. (Not cheap.)

That's one of the reasons why I think the $2500 cost is pretty reasonable. If I was looking at getting an MY18 I would be ticking that box.

Unless of course “forged” is a past tense reference of “forgery” ;)

The forged wheel price is reasonable. I paid around $4,500 for a set of 20" forged Ferrada FR8 wheels and then $2600 for 275 & 305 Michelin PS4S.

So a mere $7,100!!! But it transformed the cars handling to a gob smacking level and they look the ducks nuts!

We are only a few months out from official release and about 6 months for first delivery's. So Ford know exactly what pricing/options are.
Spot on, they are just having an each way bet to see if they can get rid of old stock and keep people guessing on the 18.

Its the top selling sports car here by a MILE and also Australia is the 3rd largest Mustang market outside of the US and Canada.

They'd be insane to stop selling them after making the S550 platform be able to RHD, they've done all the hard work already.

They're also releasing more cars here like the Raptor next year, the Camaro is coming from GM, etc.
