As far as i understand these are prices!as i did question the dealer and thought it was a bit odd to give a options price list, without releasing the price of the Mustang itself.
The prices for options price only applies,if you order them at the time of placing the order
for your Mustang, otherwise the options will cost more.

Interesting variation in prices all over for both car and options. Looks very much like they're in the market research phase where they see what people are prepared to stump without seeing/driving the car or being able to compare with/without options. Then they'll announce MSRP. There is no way they don't already know what the car and options are going to cost them.

We are only a few months out from official release and about 6 months for first delivery's. So Ford know exactly what pricing/options are.

Yes agreed they know. I knew what I was paying 2 years out (well 18 months at least). They are certainly testing the water with a view to extracting what they think they can get away with.

Also they need to take into account the A$ and what they think it will do over the next few years. You cant just alter the car price each day with the A$ fluctuation so they set it for at least 12 months.

As far as an imported car compared to what it sold in its home market I think the 2015 to 2017 Mustang was the closest to the home market (read cheapest) I have ever seen. A GT with the PP and a few extras was in A$ about what it was in USD in the States. You never see that, and now may not again. perhaps it was a loss leader, but I think thay may have near exhausted the market for a while.

Aust/US price point comparison was pretty amazing.

On market exhaustion, presumably the downward pressure on MY17 prices was created by both a diminishing market and imminent arrival of the MY18, although the deep discounting seemed to start in mid ish 2017 way before you'd expect them to be run out given the MY18 wasn't expected until mid-late 2018.

I don't see hordes complaining about how they can't buy a new 2017 so supply must still be exceeding demand. Is demand drying up? IIRC the last boat of 17s to Australia has unloaded by now.

When I initially placed my order in September 2017 I was told after the last delivery in December 2017 there would be no more Mustangs delivered to Australia until the first shipment of 2018's. (now July 2018)
My dealer had 4 GT's and an EB on his lot but didn't seem worried about getting rid of them.

No, it hasn't, Some haven't even loaded yet. The last MY17s won't arrive until late Feb I believe. Numbers are significantly down of course but they're still coming.

After looking at the official UK option price list, I believe above price list is just a high estimate of what they will cost, hell the forged wheels are way to high in comparison to the UK

British pound = Aust dollar

Mag ride is 1333.33 $2327

Forged wheels is 812.50 $1418

Recaro seats is 1416.67 $2473

These prices are without the 20% vat tax, so au would have to add 10% gst to the above au prices

You forget the LCT, 33% on top of that giving (and GST);

mag ride $3400
forged wheels $2100
Recaro $3600

not miles away from what the dealer said.

Some of these may come as a no choice option once Ford works out what most people are interested in, and if buyers will lift to a new price bracket rather than miss out. My bet would be MR as it's unseen and many people could be snowed by the tech jargon - you can see and feel seats and wheels, so there's a danger that you might make your own mind up and sales folk don't like that. Research of the target demographic will tell them what's going to sell more / extract more money.

Looks like interest/anticipation is building for the MY18. Must say, after looking at vids on the 18, it's got me curious.
