Would it be too much to hope for a GT500 for both generations?

Just throwing this right out there:

'19 & '20MY S550 GT500 with a supercharged CPC 5.2
'21MY+ S650 GT500 with an Ecobeast V8

It's going to be amazing !! hoping for LED headlights and a better high end euro car type interior...no more cheap hard plastic please !!! and wooooo Bang & Olufsen audio system !! 10 speed trans rumored to be just as good or better than PDK !! wow wow wow exciting stuff !!
The same basic 10 speed auto is already available in the Corvette. Yes, Ford will tune it for it's cars, but the major hardware is already a known quantity. Everyone has said it's fantastic "for a torque converter automatic", but still not as good as a good DSG (especially PDK, which is widely thought of as the very best DSG). I'd expect a massive improvement over the 6 speed auto of today, but I wouldn't expect PDK level performance from it.

HIGHLY doubt we see anything supercharged with a Blue oval on it of a long time (if ever again)...

The Corvette has the 8-speed ZF auto.........it's the Camaro ZL1 (and Raptor and '17MY F150 3.5 Ecoboosts) that have the 10-speed auto.

The 2017 F150's (with 2nd Gen Ecoboost) with 10 speed autos are out there. There's a bunch of youtube videos of people comparing them to the 2016 F150's with 6 speed autos.

[ame]

This is a good video as the passenger is a Ford transmission engineer!
Someone who knows more than me might be able to pick up some valuable information from the conversations.
He talks about the gear ratios, spreads, etc.. This information should apply to the Mustang when its put in there.
At 14:00, he talks about how it can skip from any gear. It doesn't need to move through linearly.

As far as body work goes I cant see any dramatic changes coming yet. Major body panel changes will require re-tooling in the factory, that takes a lit if time and I bet they are already working on that for 2020-2021. Betting the changs are minor as other have said, hood, bumpers, facia etc. But no major body panel changes. Thats ok for me. Again I just want an auto with PP. If I dont get it Ill deal on a leftover 17.

Mach 1 - 5.2 block, cpc, voodo heads and intake, 10spd auto

More aluminum parts across the board to lighten chassis. HP bump to get closer to Camaro advertised hp
I have modeled a 5.2L CPC /w DI using the volumetrics from the GT heads/ intake and .5 higher CR and it simulated at 485hp and 460ftlbs.

Hope Ford changes the name of their turbo line. I may be the only one, but "Ecoboost" is just not an appealing name when you are talking about cars like the Mustang (I could understand it might fit for Fiesta's etc...) I think marketing screwed the pooch on that one.
And before anyone jumps on me, you can look at my posting history and see I never really have a negative comment about anything.
I've just never really liked Ecoboost since day one.

There is literally a ZERO chance of that happening. Only way to avid "EcoBoost" is to buy a Lincoln, where they just say "3.0T" instead of EcoBoost. But it's the use of EcoBoost on their performance models that brings people into the showrooms and gets them excited to buy normal models with EcoBoost engines. I'd love to have an F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost so that I could say I have the same engine as the Le Mans winning GT.

I was told today...by what I consider a good source the 18 GT500 will be a 4.2 Twin turbo.

Interesting take. I don't have a problem with the actual engine/turbo, I just think"ECO" doesn't have a ring to it when you are talking about a muscle car. I just think it should have a more aggressive moniker or just "T". But like I said, it could just be me.
