2018 Mustang Orders Placed Thread (Vote/Share Here)

Ordered 8/4. Nothing in stone but deal stated delivery between Thanksgiving and Christmas which would go with a lot of what others have positioned. Looks like if you got your order in, and didn’t make any edits, by mid August your looking at a 2017 delivery. Anytime after that it looks like a December build but because of the shutdown a January delivery. Fingers crossed it gets done and shipped before the holidays

Hopefully, my car will be delivered by Christmas. If not its not the end of the world. It'll just be a late Christmas present to myself . They should start to build my car by the 18th. My dealer said they will have a short supply of the black accent package and PP and something else I can't remember that week of the 48th week allocation.

Got word this morning from my dealer that my car has been scheduled for 12/18. Later than I'd prefer but I'll take it at this point!

Funny timing as over the weekend I was thinking about canceling my order and just buying a GT350 used for about the same price since I could get that much faster.

I got the word that mine will be produced the same week. Not really acceptable for a car I ordered in July! I may go the GT350 route or just toss in the Ford towel all together and buy something else! 6 month wait for a standard production car? Its not that F ing special! Besides, by the time I comes in, they will be months away from the 2019 model unveiling!!!

Yeah, I am confused about the build date scheduling. I ordered mine as soon as we were allowed to order. Now I am seeing a lot of build dates close to mine from more recent orders. I also don't get why I went from first week build to end of November.

According to the owner of the small dealer I use "retail" orders could not go into the system until approximately Oct 25. I ordered mine on Oct 5 and sure enough the order with VIN showed up in Cotus on about Oct 25. Currently the build week is scheduled for Dec 18 per the dealer. My 15 was assembled that same week in 2014 and delivered the second week in Jan despite the holiday shipping delays. There were no defects or shipping damage. Fingers crossed that the 18 will be the same. Car came by rail from the factory to distribution center in NC less than 50 miles from the dealer and then by truck.

I see you are in Raleigh. :-) I ordered from the large dealer in Cary. LOL. I got my 2015 there and the process was great. I'm surprised for how big of a deal the 2015 release was that there were no problems. This year it seems like they have their heads screwed on backwards. That extra week of shutdown must have screwed them all up. So it looks like you and I will be received them around the same time here in the area as well.

So now that OK to buy has been issued does that mean retail orders from here on out will take priority?

Yes they should after every dealer has at least one 2018 in stock to drawl people in. Or so my dealer says.

My dealer knew nothing of the factory being closed for a week for Halloween. Only thing they knew was that they'd be closed for two weeks for Christmas/New Years.
