My U.K. car is coming up for 3 years old
Done 10000 miles
Are there any issues I should get checked before warranty runs out next month
I had the loom by manifold sorted a few years ago
I’ve been told the oil cooler is in a bad place on right hand drive cars and can be faulty??

also my clutch can be very juddery when pulling away in first gear
Any advice would be great

Ford won’t be interested in imaginary future faults that may or may not happen and you’ll probably find the clutch isn’t covered as it’s a consumable item, it’s hard enough to get them to fix faults that are actually present.

What's the situation with Ford and them completing a free end of warranty inspection like BMW do?

I think it's a pretty poor show if it's not offered.

I agree my concern is being faced with a huge bill after warranty ends
I assume there are companies that take on warranty’s at a cost

Ford Protect offer it, no idea how much for the GT as the site needs details, reg, miles etc of an out of warranty car or at least one that's nearing it.
Would be interesting to see what it spits out for the cost if someone would oblige

Just be very wary of aftermarket warranties. You have to be a lawyer and read the small print.
Although it may be endorsed by Ford it’s probably just an insurance policy. Typically they exclude consequential damage. So if your oil cooler blows, they pay you £100 for a new cooler but you’re left with the bill for an engine rebuild as the result of the blown oil cooler.

please chime in anyone knows exactly how Fords post manufacturers warranty works

Good advice
I’m gonna read details before I get any cover
Seems this oil cooler thing was on older cars ??
How can we tell ??

until it goes pop, your oil cooler was good one. Maybe I'm wrong but from what I've read basically any year can have it go wrong cause Ford quality control is quite frankly a total joke. We should all be swapping the stock unit out for a non OEM replacement but I've also read some Australian companies replacement was fck too and it caused the same issue. Cars, who'd have them eh

Surely if this is common it needs sorting by Ford
Who can afford an out of warranty engine rebuild ????
