They ran a very small restrictor from day one. Go look up the regs on the imsa site. Bop.

More bs. Since you said it now it's in your court. Prove it. Show the regs.

The race team never used the FPC in the first place, so what exactly does that prove? The FPC was in the street car and helped it sell like hot cakes, as did it being one of the most volumetrically efficient american V8 ever produced in volume. Another few thousand cars made next year really doesnt change anything
It proves it's not reliable enough to be used as a race engine! That's my point. This is exactly why the GT4 and FP350S use the CPC.
The GT350R-C used the FPC.

The multimatic cars had highly detuned voodoos. Mixing up the teams now, the new ones went back to CPC
Exactly they went back to CPC because the FPC is not reliable enough. That's what I keep saying. The FPC DOESNT MAKE ANY MORE POWER THAN A CPC.

That may be true. That was my point as well and what ive already stated. All of the extra provisions needed to make the voodoo run reliably in a race car might not have made sense, especially when it needs to run restricted either way.

Not when its sipping through a straw

Wait first you said the FPC was not used by a race team. What changed your facts ? You do know they won the championship ? Grant it the only competing make was Porsche. Don't tell them the 350 was sipping threw a straw . Where do you get this stuff ?

Not BS at all, I've read them multiple times and its been discussed quite a bit on here. All of the 2017 regs are up, but the fact is the ima GT350R-Cs ran with a restrictor...i want to say in the 50mm range.

The facts are the facts, its your decision to believe them or not. I misspoke once, admitted to that, and moved on. That doesnt make other facts I state untrue.

But why is the FPC vs CpC even a question of more power, not like the firing order going to make the engine suck more air, isn't the power band the biggest difference between the two? Does the 5.2 CPC also rev past 8K? does it cause I really don't know?

Again, all of the 2015 official regs have been pulled from the website, but I found this. THe Z28 also ran a restrictor and the GT350 was given an extra 50lb ballast after its first win. Bop!

http://www.hotrod.com/articles/ford-debuts-shelby-gt350r-c-this-weekend-at-watkins-glen/

"Powering the GT350R-C is the 5.2L Voodoo V8 that makes 526 hp in production trim—though it will be choked with a 58mm restrictor for IMSA competition. The V8 benefits from a flat-plane crankshaft that helps the engine produce maximum intake and exhaust flow through a specific firing order, which enhances cylinder filling and scavenging. It also gives the V8 and unique growl that enthusiasts will drool over, especially at the 8,000-plus rpm redline"

Look the Shelby's were still bouncing off the 8000 rpms and having vibration issues. That's why they went back to the CPC. The so called detuned engine that you claim had no bearing on this issue. Each race had bop in one form or another. I'm sure the race team used words like drool over again and again. That's hot rod magazine crap.

The fpc only revs slightly more because the crank weighs less. A cpc can also rev to 8250+. The ford performance A52XS crate engine uses the GT350 block, heads, valve train, same compression, same cubic inches, same cam lift and duration but with a CPC and CPC firing order and it makes 582 hp 442 tq. Granted it has a cobra jet intake and dual bore throttle body, 1-7/8" headers and 101 octane race gas. My gt350 with stock engine with just ARH headers, Lund tune and 100 octane Sunoco 260 GT Race gas made 538 rwhp. On watsons dyno. With a 13.5% loss that's about 619 crank hp. But that's a calculated figure not a engine dyno figure. A year ago I tried to fit the cobra jet intake and mono blade to my car but the hood wouldn't allow it to fit so I scraped that idea. I also contacted Hogan intakes for a custom intake similar to the cobra jet, but for $6000.00 for the intake and throttle body I said forget it. I plan on building a 700+ crank hp Naturally Aspirated voodoo sometime mated to a 6 speed sequential transmission. So spending the 6k on an intake at that time didn't make sense.

Go read the link I posted. If you are still unsure post a thread and ask the rest of the board to see if anyone saved a PDF of the regs.

True and built ones even higher, the one hard to quantify thing is the improved exhaust savaging that the FPC offers due to firing balance between the two cylinder banks. For extreme/peak applications this could really give it the edge. For a race car that is power restricted anyway, perhaps the value is lost.
