I'm looking to order my 18 maybe this week. I want to get triple yellow so I gotta do it before the 18's stop production. However, my dealer told me you will be able to order 18's until June or July so I'm not sure who to believe.

The people who post this stuff on BO generally know better what's going on than some guy at the dealership. This information has also since been posted on Donlen.

www.donlen.com/buildstart-ford.html

The source at BO explains this order end date further:

http://www.blueovalforums.com/forum...019-mustang-production-information/?p=1018093

Fleet orders balance out early because of the longer lead times for scheduling. Regular orders will balance out around the last date for spec changes (3/22/2018). Balance out is not set in stone and vehicle lines sometimes balance out earlier. As such, orders placed towards the end of scheduling are at a higher risk of not being scheduled due to commodity (options, etc.) issues.
So it's possible that you can get an order in later than 3/02 but if you want something that is going out of production this MY, I wouldn't chance it.

Dealers are often clueless unfortunately. According to this production schedule, which can also be found other places as well, this Friday is the last day to order a 2018 so if you want to order a triple yellow, I'd do it this week. I'm sure your dealer might be able to source you a triple yellow somewhere else but it won't be an order. 2019 production starts in June so it sounds like your dealer doesn't know about the shortened production schedule for the 2018s and is just basing his comments off of when ordering has closed in the past few years.

Just do the order now, what’s stopping you? Production for 2018s will go into June iirc, but that’s filling orders already made. The time to order is now and asap if you want a disappearing 2018 color choice.

This, based on the information that I can dig up specifically on this site, I have always gone into the dealership more informed than they are. Trust what you see here and you will not be disappointed. Just place the order!

I know they usually aren't as informed. But he said he wouldn't quote me a date until he checked with the guy that does the ordering. The order guide quoted him June-July. I think sometimes Ford doesn't filter the info down quick enough. Either way its going to be this week for me.

It’s likely the guy mistook production for orders.
Post pics of your 2018 when you get it :D

Yep, and we're in the same boat my friend. We're out of town for awhile, and I was planning on ordering the wife a 2018 when we return March 4th. Well, that ain't happening now. :D
UPDATE: I was able to get the order in on 2/14 for the wife's GT Vert. The waiting begins. :)

I was told you can order 18 until the end of month. 19’s can be ordered but no pricing and today’s trade in value could not be honored. Royal crimson is gone for 19 which is the color I really want
I got them verbally to agree to $4k off msrp for a 18 premium royal crimson with 3.55 A10 and active exhaust. they offered me $24k for my car with 27k miles on it . I’m contemplating now for the next 10 days

Got the VIN#, a TPW 03/26, and an EDD of 04/21. Now, if everything will just stay the same.

So I supposed the March 2nd date was wrong after all? Because I placed an order on a 2018 Mustang with my dealership on 3/16/2018. I guess I have to hope they dont call me and say that Ford turned down the order. I tried tracking it on COTUS but it says "A matching vehicle could not be determined. Please contact your dealer to get status updated about your order." It's probably just to soon to show up on COTUS. Although, I am a little worried because the Preview Order sheet they gave me on the bottom says, "This order has not been submitted to the order bank." It does show on top Type "Retail" with a Priority Code of "10". I think that's good? Originally it was Type: Stock with a Priority Code of 80 and I called my dealership yesterday and he changed it for me and sent me a text image of the new sheet.

From my understanding, the message you received above is an indication that your order has been submitted and accepted (if you try another bogus order number in your search you will get a different message that says check your input and try again). You can also call Ford Customer Service or open a chat on the build and price site and they can confirm your order is in their system. My order was submitted 3/7. I have received confirmation that my order has been accepted and is awaiting scheduling. I am still getting the same exact Cotus message as you. While it's still no guarantee that the car will be built depending on final build out and potential material restraints, there isn't anything more you can do now but be patient and wait. Scheduling should be done in the next few weeks. Best of luck!
