According to a poster over on Blue Oval Forums the 2018 Mustang model year will be a short one.

"Per yesterday's FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin) the following timetable has been announced for the 2018MY Balance Out & 2019MY Job #1."

The schedule has been announced as follows:

03/02/2018 - 2018MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
03/22/2018 - 2018MY Last Day to Spec Change
06/07/2018 - 2018MY Job Last Date

03/12/2018 - 2019MY Order Bank Open Date
04/12/2018 - 2019MY Scheduling Begins
06/11/2018 - 2019MY Job #1 Date

So if I understand this correctly the last day to order a 2018 from the dealer is 3/02/2018?

It possibly would have covers on it like the GT500 mule did. It will probably have different front/rear spoilers and probably a 70's style dual inlet hood. I think they are more likely to use that style then the shaker again with how little clearance there is over the intake.

Ford is simply stretching the 2018 into 2019 with hardly any changes, to give them time and room for MY2020 with more significant changes and new models, i.e. GT500.

I can't imagine there will be many changes between 2018 and 2019, maybe a few colors and or trim options. Maybe the California Special or some of the grabber colors come back. What will the 2018 run be, 7 or 8 months? Rare!:lol:

This will probably mean that the Bullitt and the GT500 will be MY 2019 instead of 2018 models. Hopefully the Bullitt and GT500 go on sales before next fall

Not sure why everyone is creaming their pants over the Bullit. It's only going to be a premium GT with a new color, badges, and maybe some new wheel packages. Probably going to be the most underwhelming release ever. I get it, its from some movie, but besides that I am not so sure where the hype is coming from. *yawn*

This isn't Ford official but we have a pretty good idea of the color changes for 2019. I like the idea of having the new model of Mustang start production in June. Now we have a better chance in Minnesota of getting a GT350 R or GT500 before Fall.

Just like any other product that comes out with a SE version, exclusivity, value retention and there are some people who are just Bullit fans.:shrug:

For me, it's just that I have been waiting for a dark green Mustang for some time. Because Ford is so ridiculous with only using it for a stupid "Bullitt" edition every ten years or so, if I want dark green, I need a "Bullitt". That is all.
