You are correct, dealer has been great to work with for the past few months, and msrp.
Congratulations on MSRP. The dealers - and they were far far away from the tristate area - that were willing to do @MSRP havent confided in me (yet) that they even have '17 allocations.

I had to pretty far south to find one with a low ADM. And that was already the last one they had. I dont doubt MSRP deals are to be had, but not often, and im guessing its a very low % overall for the GT350 and R...

2015/16MY all over again means a repeat of the crap from before and guys jumping up and down freaking out about getting their order in on day one thinking they will get early build-which is not the case.

2017 allocations. If they received a 2016 they WILL receive a 2017. Dealers paid $1000 to be in a 2 yr program with a car guaranteed each year.

I haven't found out the allocation formula used for the 2017s...generally based upon 2016 mustang sales up to a set date thus do not know if allocations beyond their "1" are known.

Some common sense applies here..if they only received 1 in 16 and their sales didn't change much their allocation didn't change much. Some dealers received Boss 302 Laguna's via lottery-not sure how or if Ford is doing any of that with the Rs. Time will tell.

If you are in serious negotiation your dealer should be able to tell you about allocation...unless your buyer number 4...5...6 and the dealer is "hoping" for an extra one....they are all hoping for an extra one-you can do the math and figure that ain't happening.

Many dealers have only 1 or 2 people who do all the ordering. MOST dealership employees, especially sales staff are clueless about the process and stall with an unknown vs admitting to being clueless.

I know one local dealership that has not had a 350 on their lot....they are a big no adm dealer. But like all they need income- to avoid a bad reputation you can bet their allocation was sold to another dealer for over Msrp....thus again many dealers are not going to reveal allocation numbers to you. If you order you do need to verify they are in fact getting allocation for you and not just selling you a "we hope for a car" car.

I placed my order on Friday 8. April and dealer was able to enter order in system indic blau (DIB) however, I will get the new Saphire blue metallic because Ford is no longer accepting orders for DIB. Car will be built after June 2 and he is sure the car will be 2017 Mustang. I am locked into the price of the 2016 Mustang so no matter what price increase that may occur, I am locked into the current price for the 2016 Mustang. My car will be delivered somtime in the fall.
My dealer didn't have any examples of the new Saphire blue metallic. I also checked with another large dealer and he didn't have an example either. They explained the new Saphire blue metallic is one shade lighter than DIB. I was able to find an example of the Saphire blue metallic online. Strange that customers can only, at this time, find an example of this Saphire blue metallic on line and dealers don't have an example.
For what it's worth, I think the Saphire Blue metallic is very nice. I think I like it more than DIB.

If he's talking about a GT 350, there is no European-spec version. And it's going to be tough to pay 2016 pricing, since there's no 2017 GT 350 model that's directly comparable to a 2016 GT 350 model. The best he could hope for is comparing the price of a 2016 Track Package to the price of a 2017 "base" GT 350, and maybe not paying the 3% (or whatever) price bump Ford adds for the new model year.

People click on "latest threads" links from the sidebar and pay no attention to what subforum it's in. He's talking about a standard Mustang.

I don't foresee you getting a 2017 model at 2016 prices, but I hope it works out for you

I actually prefer the 2016 Mustang. I wanted to order the 2016 Mustang. As I understand, the 2017 will practically be the same car except for the 3 new colors and some other minor changes. I won't be dissapointed if I get the 2016 or 2017.

that is a good question. I first thought Saphire blue was the German equivilant of lightning blue. However, on close inspection, lightning blue is a non-metallic color. Saphire blue is metallic. Also on an example , Saphire looks different and nicer than lightning blue. I "suppose" Saphire blue is a different color. Perhaps for europe but I don't know. Like I said before, Ford dealer seems to know less than we do or they ain't saying .

I know I'm getting old, but what does any of this have to do with the opening date for the order bank for the 2017 GT 350?

The Shelby is more or less close to saphire-blue but don't hold me to that. :gossip:
