No idea, but June has been confirmed through my dealer as well as directly with Ford.

Maybe the 18s wont exactly be the same after all?
im thinking it has to do with the recall
Most likely the recall, but it could also indicate a short production year for the 18' GT350 and perhaps we'll see the GT500 later this year or it could be following up right after the GT350 stops production would be my guess.

Lol based on nothing but a guess. I'm still not sold there will be a 2018. I know they sent out a form for the 2018 program.

There better be a 2018 GT350 as I placed a deposit on an R model a few days ago.

Many dealerships already have their 2018 R model allocations at least the ones I have been talking to.

;)

I think your dealer is jerking your chain, they are still building 2017. Ask for proof!

I know this dealership very well as I ordered and took delivery of HR019 from them last July and after purchasing GT350/GT350R's for the '15/'16/'17 MY's I am not worried about any proof.

Because Ford is still producing 2017 Shelby's does not mean 2018 allocations are not already being handed out to many Ford dealerships because they are.

I had my VOC for the above car in April of last year and of course Ford was still producing 2016MY GT350/GT350R's at the same time.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Any reason why the 2018 MY order banks are opening 2 months later than last year?

Hate to break the bad news but a GT350 IS a Mustang; just a different version.

There is a plant changeover this year with all the changes to the Mustang for the 2018MY.

Especially with engine changes there are new smog certifications, HP certification etc for the non-GT350 Mustangs. Thus there will be a late Job 1 date for ALL Mustangs. They are not gonna build 2018 GT350s while still building 2017 GTs and EBs.

Yes, all makes sense for initial 2018MY production to be backed up when taking into consideration all of the retooling for the 2018MY Mustangs and other certifications that you have mentioned.

That being said I would not be surprised to see a shorter production run for the 2018 GT350/GT350R's which may result in overall reduced production numbers.

Lastly, it will be interesting to see if Ford uses "I" in the VIN (10th digit) for the 2018MY or if they will jump over "I" and go right to "J"?

Why are you thinking they'd skip "I" , just curious.

Just speculating that maybe an "I" may be mistaken for a "1" but then maybe no issues here and no reason to skip to "J".

June is not a guess. 2018s are not a guess.

The other stuff is all speculation from any of us until we see an actual order guide that either confirms no changes or that maybe there will be changes after all.

Sometimes mid year changes happen. The 2018 may start production without changes, but who is to say there will not be changes once production starts. Ford could offer a California Special GT350 or other appearance package.
