Sorry if this has been answered a million times, but I can't find any of those answers. I am installing Infinity 3032CFXs in my 2017 Mustang. I am reusing the factory brackets. The passenger side door I remembered to make note of polarity on the bracket. But the driver side I did not, the yellow and black wire leading off the bracket to the new speaker terminals. Yellow is positive, black is negative I am assuming? It was late by the time I got to this point and I soldered them before testing the speaker. Now the driver speaker is far quieter than the passenger side speaker.

If your speaker sounds quieter you could have the polarity reversed which would cause signal cancellation between the two 3.5s. Since you’ve already soldered the connections you could try a cheap polarity tester like this one to determine if it’s wired correctly.

Automotive Speaker Polarity Tester Phasemeter Tool Plastic Shell Audio Signals Tester https://a.co/d/9E6d0oK

Or you could temp connect two wires to the speaker terminals and us a 9-volt battery. When you touch the wires to the battery the speaker should move outwards indication positive polarity and inwards indicates negative polarity.

There’s a massive thread pinned in this subforum that has wiring diagrams as well.

Alright thank you, yes I looked all through the diagrams. Just couldn't find those bracket wires, the wires that go to that bracket yes. But not the two short yellow and black wires.

Well, to be blunt you did say you weren’t paying attention when soldering the wires so you’ll have to check the way you wired the pigtail.
