Well put.

Look at used GT500 values (what they sell for, not asking prices) and tell me how great of an "investment" they are.

If you're buying late model cars with the intent of not losing money you're doing it wrong.
No one is buying it as an investment. I started looking at the Gt350 I then informed my self. I saw dealers wanted huge ADMs(10K+ in the north east), so I went to ebay to see how much people were willing to pay as a rough indicator of the market. I saw months ago people were only willing to pay about 1K ADM. I then found this site and saw about the over heating issue.

Information is good.

All I have to say at this moment in time (living in the moment), I LOVE the creature comforts of my tech, I LOVE the look on peoples faces when they see my car, I LOVE this engine, I LOVE driving her, I LOVE the exhaust note, and I LOVE that I can drop her to a lower gear and just gooooooooooo and most of all I LOVE that I was blessed to enjoy life with such a materialistic toy. :D
Yeah the intent isnt to make you feel bad about your car its AWESOME. Id rather pay 49K for a base care then what im paying for the 2017.

I will say somtimes you can make Money on buying new......I recently bought a 16 Corvette and drove it for 2 months and made a little money. Bought it for $9500 under MSRP which included GM card bonus money . Kelly blue book has a trade in deal with certain ford dealers. Long story short bought the Shelby GT350 @ MSRP and got $54777 value on the Vette. That's $2477 more the I paid including doc fees. In ga you pay taxes on the diffence in trade . So it's like buying the 350 with a $2477 discount. The Shelby is more fun to drive .
With out the KBB offer the best the local Chevy dealers would offer was $50K. The dealer shipped it to KBB and they put it in the auction.

No old, err middle age. We will see its my opinion. I wouldn't of bought a tech after like a day of research (I originally wanted any GT350) and ordered a 2017. Im not inclined to think future buyers will be any less informed

Im a massive car guy (not american usually) and ive seen how values on used models can be very different(seats, 5spd vs 6spd,auto vs manual)

If in 5 years i was looking for a Gt350 and I could find a car with the additional coolers id not buy a car with out it PERIOD. Just like id not buy a porsche in the years that have the IMS issue.
Used car values and buyers can be fickle. Most are bargain hunters, which is why they buy used of course. They may like the fact that the cooling pump is not in the transmission internally for maintenance reasons.

And as others mentioned, they also may like a tech car because it hasn't been beaten on the track. They will add their own coolers, which in 5 years will be well sorted out and probably not that expensive to do.

Anyway, there are a lot of unknowns and I still stand by my statement that I feel all of these cars will be fairly close in value. There isn't a whole lot different between them except for electronics, seats and coolers. Otherwise, obviously the major stuff is all the same. 6 speed and a 5.2 V8.

Edit: Or they could all start catching fire more or something else that is unknown and none of them will be worth much. So who knows.

So, HUGE thanks to MCarsFan. I have secured a GT350 @ MSRP.

I've spent a LOT of time on the track with motorcycles over the years and now that I'm mid-40s, I'm satisfied with a Tech car. I plan to keep this car forever and I'm planning lots of road trips.

I may do an occasional trackday. Perhaps I'll just go in the Spring or Autumn. If limp mode becomes an issue, I'll fit the future Ford Performance coolers.

I would have preferred a 2017 but I'm tired of waiting and if that is the last year I just don't want to miss out.

Awesome man congratulations!

I actually pretty much did the same thing you did. Spent a lot of time on the track on my bike which is what I would like to do track days on anyway.

I didn't even know about the cooling issue until the day after my car got delivered but I wasn't planning on tracking it when I purchased it. I think maybe in a year or 2 I may want to. So same boat as you, I will wait for the Ford solution.

You wont be disappointed, whatever package it is, it is an awesome car!

You do not need to track your car to need a track pack. Try and understand this : in a 2017 car, you are getting the track pack you got in 2016 for FREE. You may never utilize those coolers or the spoiler but when you compare two products for similar price, why not get the one with more stuff? This is simple basics of shopping and it applies to anything from a TV to laptop.

If you had a choice of buying a samsung tv for $1500 and $1450 and the $50 expensive one had free 3D capability, would you still buy the cheap one because you dont need it? No! Because if you ever need to sell it, the TV with the extra features will be worth more.

Same car, one with more cooles, bigger aero, better seat will sell easier and will be sell for more than the same car without those.

In 2016, it was tech "OR" track. Now, that is not the case. So anyone buying these cars 2-3 years from today will pay more for 2017! Its basic math.

Anothert thing to take into consideration when buying a used Tech pack in the future, is that you won't know how often this car was ran hot. I would stay away from one just because of that unknown.

Ford performance is working on this cooling situation. All this talk is all about nothing. It's just a few people getting their panties in a bundle. Let's give FP a chance to work out the details.

I would guess that less than 5% of orders were for base cars. So, technically, you are correct. In practice, it brought the base up to where everyone was anyways.
