2016 Shelby GT350 Allocations

I guess nobody will have any sympathy for someone like me who does not even live in the U.S.! I hooked up by email with a dealer in xxx six months ago who confidently told me I could have one of their first GT350 allocations shipped to me here in England, no problem, but now they are not even answering my emails! Good things come to those who wait I guess so if anyone can recommend a trustworthy Ford Performance exporter who I can hook up with, even if I have to wait until next summer, I would be very grateful. You guys need to share your wonderful heritage with your friends across the Atlantic! Thank you!

Same here... I haven't received a VIN yet. I have confirmation of my order but no VIN or build date, so I'm already in the mindset that unless I'm lucky and I get a blessing prior to November, I'll likely be looking at April.

So u recived dora but no vin#? I was under the impression that once u get your dora u get the vin. I placed my order 8/19 in a tiny dealership in northern indiana. I never recived dora recipt. All i have is a buyers agreement and a screen shot of the order screen which states "unscheduled-material hold." I was told by one of the members that material hold will be lifted when the parts arive to build the vehicle ,which i can only assume, will give me all the details i want.

But what if that first owner sells it to a local buyer who then plans to export it? By then it's already a pre-owned so Ford doesn't have legal rights to cease exportation of that same unit.... correct?

That's not a problem If someone registers the car and then exports it later. It's not a new car.

There is a scam going on were exporters are having random people buy cars for cash... register them in their name and then ship them off.

I guess the exporter are paying the buyer $500 to complete the transaction.

The problem is the person who buys the car will be taxed on the cash purchase later in the year and will owe the IRS.

when your car is allocated from regional office, you should should get a call from dealer making sure your order is correct. Within a week or two you will get a vin .........When that occurs could be anytime from now to 6 months from now . Good luck with your purchase.

Appreciate the feedback guys, in that case I will have to wait for the excitement over the GT350 to die down and buy a sensibly priced 'used' vehicle somehow. The car I currently have I bought here in England, it was already U.K. Registered...also, as you may know, the GT is now officially available for the first time in England so perhaps the GT350 will follow, does anybody know if that is likely to happen?

A DORA doesn't guarantee you will receive the order placed. It's merely a receipt that the order was acknowledged.

As for me, I directly ordered my car via invitation so I don't get a DORA.

I've wondered this same thing. I suppose, since the order hasn't been accepted by the factory, there isn't much of a reason for it to be delayed.
