Yeah, I live right next to the convention center. I'm going through Galpin all the way up in LA, I like the people there and I can get a better deal on financing, even over my Credit Union.

I stay away from Villa Ford like the plague. I had my car serviced in their body shop once, and when it was delivered to me, there was a service clipboard still on the seat, and my glovebox was open and ransacked with all the contents spilled out all over the interior (including some things that weren't mine!?!) and they had stolen my GPS. Their best response was to offer a free oil change. So yeah, nothing good to say about them.
Damn dude! Thats terrible, I would do the same. Luckily my dealer use to work with my mom (mom worked at Ford Credit for over 20 years). Luckily I am getting an amazing deal on this Mustang with my moms X-plan discount. (Sheds off a sweet $6K off the sticker)
Congrats though man! hopefully I'll see you on the road :headbang:

Cool, Yeah, I've not had any negative experiences with McCoy Mills, I shopped them when I was looking at my 2014 Fiesta (Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park tried telling me the Fiesta had a CVT for a transmission - I walked off after that) and Ford of Orange has typically been my go-to for basic service needs (good staff there).

Chances are you'll see me at some point, My Fiesta is hard to miss, and I do work in Irvine just south of The Market Place.

Very nice! I work off McArthur right next to The Anti Lab & The Camp. Directly off the 55 FWY. I'll keep my eye out :eyebulge:

Tell the dealer you want a copy of the priced DORA, pronto! That's Ford's acknowledgement that they received the order and it is in the Ford system. No promise of being built at this time, just an order receipt. The DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) will have everything Deysha needs to track it down. AND SHE WILL! Order number, dealer number, and a breakdown of what was ordered including options. Some dealers just don't want to be cooperative, or salesmen just to ignorant to get with the program. Have them e-mail you a scanned copy ASAP. If need be, remind them that YOU are the customer, and they're not doing you a favor. Favors don't cost $$$, and you're spending yours!

That is all...
Thanks for the attempt at help Waldorf.
Sad to report. After calling the dealership and going down there in person I've gotten the same treatment. I flat told the dealer on the phone that others who have ordered AFTER I have received VIN numbers by now. I'm sure the dealer is unhappy with the existence of the internet at this point.

I am about to call in to the VOPC as Per DirtyBlueShirts instruction. If literally no one at Ford can confirm my order and the dealer is unwilling to cooperate I'm about to walk in, inform them that Ford has no order, get my deposit and go somewhere else.

Just curious...is it not likely to find what you want on the lot and therefore all these orders?

Yes and no. Some people like the satisfaction of being the first person (more or less) to drive it. If it's on the lot, there's a chance someone has taken it for a test drive, or a salesperson took it hooning for the weekend.

Not all dealers are going to order the exact combination someone wants - dealers are going to order the combinations they think they can sell the most of - this belies the core difference between buying a car in the US versus in Europe. In Europe, it's more common to order and wait - the Dealer is basically just a showroom. In the US, we've been conditioned that we want that instant gratification of walking into a dealer and driving away with a car that very day.

That being said, most of the people who order are enthusiast types who want the car to be exactly how they want it, and they're willing to wait to get it. I fall into that category. EB Premium with the Performance Pack in my color combo (Guard/Saddle)? Yeah, if I waited at the dealer long enough, they might have one come in - But I also wanted Adaptive Cruise Control - and I never saw ANY car with that on the lot. So with that, it was ordering time. It also gives me some 'cool-off' time to make sure I really wanted to get the car. It turns out I do :)

Mach, I know certainly I could not find what I wanted on the lot. Whether that would have changed in the 8 weeks between my order and its arrival I don't know. Doesn't seem terribly likely with the Performance Package and Recaros on the EB

Are you saying you don't have to take the car you ordered? Is there a time limit to decide?

I depends how much you put down, versus what they charge as an 'order fee'. I believe Galpin said I could order with as little as $100 down (may have been higher) but I put a full grand down at the time.

Depends on the dealer. My dealer required a $500 deposit but it is fully refundable and I can back out the deal at any time. The deposit seemed to just earmark the car for me.

Mine ordered the car with my 'alright, let's fuckin do it' through a text message. So I was unsure really how this would go. Now Deysha has found my VIN, and like you guys said, been way more helpful than dealer as far as time tables are concerned. A+ job by her!

I ordered mine because I couldn't find a magnetic PP premium with a manual, and when they were close but not quite that car I'd be flooded with emails and calls and in not one, but two instances...they tried to sell me an F-150!!! Wtf.

Finally! After months of deliberating options and emails to different dealers, several est drives, last night I put down some $$ for my final choice. I wanted to get the performance package but realistically, with health conditions weighing in, I opted for an automatic with 3.55 ratio, TY, 401A, Nav, Yellow Jacket Premium interior, black painted roof, 20" foundry black wheels, spoiler delete, enhanced security.

I plan on putting twin racing stripes on it to match the painted roof and also add some black accents with rear spoiler, mirrors, vent hoods, some black out headlamps too. I'm liking the sound of the Borla sport exhaust and perhaps some lowering springs to give it a better stance.

The canvas on which to paint!

Ordered my replacement vehicle today. My dealer couldn't find exactly the configuration I wanted (see below) within 500 miles. There weren't even any cars on order or in transit that met these specs, so ordering was the only option. It might work out well, though; it's due to arrive close to the holidays, so there might be some good financing incentives! WOO HOO!
