Just got back from my dealer and after ordering my car in early May I was finally able to sit down and work out a price with them. I'm now all set for $600 below invoice plus whatever incentives are available at the time of delivery. Now just to resume the waiting game until it's here in late august.

Congrats on the great deal wcamp!
Waiting for just the VIN has been so long and I'm itching about reconfiguring my options. Will this affect my delivery date at all since its not scheduled yet? Really not gonna wait another day if thats the case :)

On Order 2016 Ruby Red GT Premium
Placed my order Saturday July 18th. GT Premium, Ruby Red, 6 speed manual with the GT performance package, luster nickel wheels, reverse park assist and Nav system. Dealer told me he hopes it will deliver 8 to 10 weeks from start of production. Then he went on to say that it could be longer because of issues with transportation from Flat Rock. Not sure what issues they have. Dealer didn't say. I'm hoping for October.

I placed my order on May 21st. I already have the VIN# and my dealer told my that my order has been processed, but I can't seem to track it with COTUS.

Considering they have updated the site for 2016s, you will probably have your car before it will show up

That's unfortunate. I suppose that it doesn't really matter as long as it comes in sometime soon. I'm really hoping a for late August delivery.

Judging by your signature StangMan04, our Mustangs are going to be pretty much identical. I also ordered a Magnetic Premium with the 3.55s and a spoiler delete.

UPDATE: I called my dealer today and asked about the order. He assured me that the production of the car began on 7/17 and it will arrive no later than 8/18. This news was a little unsettling because I was under the impression that the build date for 2016s wasnt until 8/3. I'm also a little weary because upon my initial order, the dealer insisted that 2016s could not be ordered and was very insistent that I order a 2015 instead. We didn't resolve it until I pulled up Ford's website to prove that the order banks had opened on May 11th. I would lose my mind if it were a 2015 with Sync 2 when it came in after I've waited months for a 2016 with Sync 3. :frusty:

Latest word I have from my dealer (yesterday) is no scheduling of retail builds until September 3rd. They'll mix in retail builds beginning the week of September 7th (Monday). This was confirmed to my by Deysha today. If your dealer ordered it as inventory, it might schedule sooner, depending on how the dealer assigned priority. However, if Ford should increase the invoice price and your car isn't built yet (kinda doubtful), the dealer can pass on the increase on an "inventory" ordered car.

All the info I've obtained so far still points to production on the 2016 begins on Monday, August 3rd for dealer allotments (inventory).

Your mileage may vary.

That is all...

Thank you for the update. So sounds like retail orders won't get any updates until mid to late August if they are getting scheduled for early September builds.

The "money quote" in the e-mail that was forwarded to me yesterday by the dealer from Ford:

"The "OK to buy" is scheduled for August 31, 2015. If the OK to buy is granted retail scheduling begins Thursday, September 3, 2015.

I guess that gives me more time to save for more goodies. Already got a set of wheels on order.

I've given up on COTUS. I put in my dealer #, order #, and last name, and it tells me that my F150 Platinum is on it's way to the rail yard in Atlanta! The reason being, the dealer uses the same alpha-numeric order codes every year. COTUS picks up the dealer# and order # then figures it's close enough. "Still a few bugs in the system":lol::lol:
