- 2017 Ecostang Premium
Placed an order on April 9th for a 2016 Ecoboost Premium with a $2000 deposit. Just got a call today (two weeks later) saying my order has been cancelled by Ford and that they are no longer taking 2016 orders and haven't opened up 2017 orders either. Also dealer stated that even once they do start taking 2017 orders that delivery isn't expected until July (not sure where he got this from).
Not sure why there needs to be such a large lull in ordering for a MY changeover that is essentially 3 new colours that will seamlessly be transitioned over to at the plant without a gap in production. Either way Ford needs to level up their communication with their dealers because no one seems to have a clue as to what's going on in terms of dates for when they can and can't order vehicles.
Had no idea wanting to buy a company's product would be this difficult, it's like pulling teeth. This would have been my first new car purchase but between this cancelled order, the gross lack of information at the dealers, and the initial ordeal I had to go through at the dealership itself to come to a deal I'm surprised Ford sell's any cars at all. They probably just lost themselves a first time customer in me before they even made me one.
I don't usually rant but I was really excited for this car and learning that the last two weeks of waiting (in which I thought my car was making progress on being built) were for nothing is really frustrating especially since it could have been avoided if Ford just made their dealers aware of anything more than what's in the car brochure. Couple that with the fact that I can't even put in an order for a 2017 (and no one seems to even know when I can) and I feel like I'm just wasting even more time on a car I was hoping I'd have for the summer.
