Hello all,
I have a 2016 Mustang GT (California special) with the automatic transmission.
Last night, when I was at a stoplight, I put it in S from the shifter and gave it about 20% throttle, then midway at about 4k RPM, I went WOT (still in 1st gear). The RPM went all the way up to past 7K (probably around 7.3-7.5k) and was stuck there for a good 2-3 seconds (I was tapping the paddles to upshift, but it was just stuck there) before shifting to 2nd.
This happened twice already. My car has 26k miles and I am the 3rd owner. My question is, is this normal? I thought automatic transmission automatically shifts before the car reaches redline? Also, why was the RPM just hanging there for that long before it can shift? Should I be worried?
Please advise,
