2016 Key Fob Battery Question

2016 - Replacing the batteries 2025 and my fob does not have the white plastic divider that goes in-between the two batteries. What is the purpose of the white plastic divider and can I stack the batteries with out it? Appreciate the feedback.

It's to keep the two batteries from shifting laterally.
