Got my VIN today.
Production week of 11/9.
I'm thinking the same thing about salt.
Mine will be on rail to within 75 miles or so of home.
Might have to pick it up in my enclosed trailer from there.

For what it is worth, I talked to FP today regarding my car which they confirmed as finished as of today. Asked about delivery and he stated no later than 11/11. The original delivery date was 10/28 which seemed way off given the build date. I asked if the delivery date was firm and he stated that he felt I would have my car by then. Brought up the no cars delivered yet issue and he stated that he knew that but felt I would have my car by 11/11.

I think it would be useful, when you post info about your build date / vin / etc to distinguish between r's and non-r's. The few folks I know with R's keep getting their build dates pushed back. My R is vin 286 (originally scheduled to production the week of aug 24, now it's the week of nov 30. boo.

They are not building any R's during the winter months. That's what I read some time ago. Maybe that's why my non R was moved up by two weeks. Sorry but that's what I read. The tires can't be moved below 32 degrees because the tires will crack. It happened to the Z06's last year @ their plant. GM had to replace a crap load of tires once delivered .

Just out of curiosity, who did you speak w/ at FP? You don't have to mention if you don't want. I'm just asking b/c I called Monday or Tuesday this week and they told me 10/26 - 11/2 was still showing as my estimated delivery in their system but he also said that those dates would most definitely be pushed back (he didn't give any kind of estimate after that). Meh...

I usually get Isaac but got another person this time. I believe John was his name. I am not putting anymore weight with this answer even though I would like to for my own sake.

As a point of reference, when I got my 2006 Z06, they had some initial production issues and I had to wait sometime for my car. I was getting the first Z06 in town and got a little anxious when the problems showed up. GM stopped all production while the problems were sorted AND the already produced cars could also be retrofitted. Only then did they re-start production on the line and I got the first Z06 in my town.

What Ford is doing implies to me that, if there were things to sort, they have them fixed since they don't want to produce cars that have to be fixed post-production. This also implies that transportation logistics are being configured to move the cars piling up in Ramp 51. I expect the cars to move fast when it starts so I kinda do believe that I could see my car in three weeks from now.

Makes sense. But at the same time, wouldn't it make more sense to come up with a solution, fix, and then resume production rather than produce them and fix later? It just seems like they're pulling our legs and the cars will ship in the next couple of weeks like they said. Idk... Maybe I'm too optimistic.

yep...sounds like production is ramping for the non-R's.
there's got to be something else going on with the R's, otherwise they'd be trying to crank those out on the coming weeks to get some done before winter.
Wish that were the case (coming from a low-VIN # R guy)

For those who did not understand. I was told my car would be enclosed in covered transport.
I did not ask or expect this, normal delivery is by rail.
As for what ford does at factory, I have no control over this.
My point was, If owners ( not only me) go through great lengths to keep these
cars out of the salt, the could make some effort to show their customers
some level of respect and to control this process to some level.
Of course this is only opinion, you don't have to agree :)

As for build dates, I realize some time ok ago, they said no R's built from Nov.
to March, although I don't believe they put a date in Nov. or March.
If not building any in Nov. why give us 2 different built dates in Nov?
If no intention of even trying to honour this?

Part of me hopes they changed their minds about not building Rs in the winter but part of me doesn't want to be disappointed so I'll keep believing it's next year. :) :hail:
