Do you really think that threatening to cancel his order is going to help?

Of course not. But do you think them lying for 5 weeks is acceptable

Doubt they are intentionally lying. Their internal communication, and strategy for disclosing information, could use a serious overhaul. I mean, the GM of my Ford dealership shouldn't have to chase down someone to find answers either. The system to help with all of this is missing.

That said, mission #1... ship cars to the 99% of people unlike us.

Deep breath. Hit some golf balls to distract yourself from the madness. Eat a turkey leg. And  :)

I don't think Voodooo is going to be hitting any golf balls in the weather they are having. He may be hitting a few bars though on his way home from Flat Rock. Just kidding Voodooo really enjoy your Holliday and family. From one of the jailed cars @ the Rock.

The
I can certainly understand your frustration but there are many of us that have been waiting a lot longer than you have and I know that doesn't make it any easier for you to swallow.

My car was assembled 3 months prior to yours and still hasn't shipped so you can only imagine what some of us others are feeling!

I have come to terms with all of this but in your case cannot the senior management or owner of your dealership step in on your behalf and speak to some senior people at Ford since you are a stones throw away?

I'm not saying my situation is worse. I mean people like you and I deserve a answer. Not a lie or run around. Ive talked to everyone. Another thing to think about. If this was just a normal mustang none of us would care or complain because their are 100s to choose from. But when my car comes in and if anything is not 100% satisfactory then you have to decide whether to accept it or decline it. It's a limited production car you can't just pick another one right then and there. And if you decide to decline it the long awaited wait and stress and excitement was a huge let down.

You don’t want to know
They don't care. I'm nobody.
That's not true. Along with some other people here, you're just an unlucky victim of circumstances. From what I've tracked down so far, your car could have been built with defective seatbelts, a couple of different wiring harness problems, the more serious and mysterious "engine oiling issue" or one of several other holds. (And don't get me started on the rumored silliness about stripes.)

Ford probably discovered a problem in cars coming off the line after yours was built and was sitting waiting to be shipped. Ford then went out to the lot to find any other cars that had the same problem, and put a hold on the ones that did, including yours and cars built immediately before and after.

For reasons ranging from safety, federal law and just common sense, Ford cannot ship cars that are defective. Some cars that had a simple fix are being shipped, but some still presumably are waiting for parts that may have had to be redesigned and manufactured; they just can't stop the whole Mustang production line and go fishing for parts. In addition, the correct part simply may not be available yet. It also just makes good and normal business sense for Ford not to be overly proactive in publicly talking about production line problems, which ultimately even could affect the company's stock value, perception in the marketplace and ability to offer more Ford Performance vehicles in the future. How many companies do you see every day that say, "Oops, we screwed up today." Not very many - and not very often.

Unfortunately, this forum (like others) sometimes projects more than its fair share of negative messages - but that's the nature of social media, and the reality is that members here (if they've been truthful about actually having ordered the cars they say they've ordered) are a small, active and vocal minority (5%±) of all GT 350 buyers. Since you legally don't own the car (no matter how large a "deposit" you put down on it), all you can do is keep contacting your dealer, Ford Performance and Deysha - but in most cases they're not going to have been told what the problem is.

And just for perspective, I really do feel your pain and frustration. When I ordered my C6, I had to wait 3 or so months for a production hold to end for a roof redesign because the roofs from an outside supplier were delaminating and flying off the cars as early owners were going down the road. How would you like to be following a Corvette down the Interstate and have the entire roof panel blow off and crash through your windshield? Or how about the Porsche GT3 buyers a few years ago who were told to stop driving their cars - and all received new engines? There was a similar problem with Mustang Cobra engines several years ago, but I can't remember the details.

Anyway, I know this situation stinks, but wouldn't you really rather have your car be 100% when it arrives - instead of having your local dealer maybe have to tear it down and take a week or so to rebuild it with non-original parts? That's when I'd be pushing to give it back, because I only want factory-fresh - not rebuilt. I've been in that situation a couple of times, where the dealer or manufacturer bought back a car because it was just a total POS that was not at all representative of the factories' capabilities. It's an awful, frustrating and time-consuming process to have to live through.

So, you and all the other buyers facing delivery problems should know that all of us in the GT 350 community are rooting for you and hope that the backlog is solved soon. The more of these amazing cars that are on the road, the happier we'll all be - and the sooner we can back to arguing about why yellow is the best color and lying to each other about how fast we are. Hang in there.

Look you and I don't agree on about 95% of the stuff we talk about. And I know as of yet it's not my car. But that car is issued to me by that vin number. And I agree it's not legally mine. But my point is this. How would you like your new car that you're not getting any info on which maybe getting a motor swap and seat belt etc. who knows what conditions it may arrive in. I don't want a car that I'm buying to of already had the engine pulled by a outside factory line. I don't care who is doing it. I have that right. What I don't have is another choice of a car that I had a very hard time getting my hands on. As I said before, if it was a mustang gt I could just cancel my order and find another one. But I'm either going to have to wait and see if I can accept this one at my pickiness or pass on it. And if I pass on it then I guess I lose out on something I've been waiting years for. So I'm sorry if you don't see my gripe or my bitching. Also I have no idea what they are doing to it and if it was something like an engine repair then yes I would pass on it right now and move on and try to find another one else where. Imagine you just bought a brand new house and how happy you and your family are. And let's say for example you just found out that it has burnt wall studs. Would you still accept it on a brand new house even though you can't see it behind the dry wall? Well my friend I wouldn't. And I would be pretty pissed if I found out about it. I'm not happy not knowing what is going on. I have a idea. Why don't you give me your car that you have coming and you can accept mine when it comes in. After all I've been waiting longer then you. How's that sound. Maybe my car will turn into a lemon. Then what do I get? I'm paying a lot of money for this car just like everyone else. This is fords most sought after and most expensive mustang. I don't like the hide and seek game. Give me the option now to know why it's just sitting where ever and why and let me the buyer decide if I want to continue to wait. It's not factory fresh if it's already being tore apart.

I love that there's no faith that the factory can make corrections to a car and then have the car be shipped out in factory condition.

No thanks, but thanks for the trip through the time warp. IIRC, my order date of May 4 is at least 3 months before your order date of August 6. And I still don't have my car either.

If "factory fresh" is such a big issue, why are you talking in another thread about the aftermarket suspension parts you've already ordered - or the "need" to replace the GT 350's rear axles? I guess you mean you want it to arrive factory fresh so you can start taking it apart to try to out-engineer Ford's engineers.

As far as the rest of your message, all I can say is wow - but I continue to wish you good luck and Happy Thanksgiving. Other than that, I'm done.

I think I'd rather have Ford fix any issues they know about before they ship the car, than just send it on its way and let the consumer have to deal with it, as some car mfgrs. have been known to do. Also, if 200 cars need a fix, it is better to train a few factory techs to do the repair than to ship them all over the country and expect 200 different dealerships to do the same quality of repair.

Listen. what I do to modify my car when I receive it is up to me. It's no different then you or anyone else doing things to their cars. If you find it offensive that I want to improve my car then I guess you can blame the aftermarket also.

I find it very offensive the way you use that aftermarket word ;-) Actually that is one of the main reasons why I'm getting this car, right out of the gate everything for me is upgraded, leaving as stock for my garage queen :-)

Why is it wrong for me to want to put a few upgrades on my car? Nobody seems to be complaining about others talking about doing it. People mention wheel swaps. Headers. Etc

I'm just giving you a hard time. It's your car. Do what you want! Except don't remove the badges. That is stupid :-)
