Dang, that's pretty strong wholesale price for 8k miles.
That's what I thought, but the GT 350 market is crazier than the race for president. I would have pegged the price at $50K, max.

DOUCHEBAG AUCTIONS SELLING AT ADM!

j/k. Seeing as auction fees can hit 1200-1800 you have to factor that in too.

It was at a Ford Factory sale. Fees are about 200 per car for Ford. Buyer will pay about 250.

Sold at Manheim Detroit for $60,300.00
Thanks for the update and not really surprizing based on the interest of these GT350's plus word got out early on this car. Also I think the color combination and black roof looked good on this car IMO.

Back in late 2012 when the first 2012 Boss 302 "Pilot Production" and "MP" cars showed up at Manheim there was not too much knowledge on these cars after which time I purchased 3 of them.

The Ford dealer that I have enjoyed working with for the last four years probably bought at least 15 or so preproduction Boss 302 cars back then including a few LS cars.

Any chance of coming up with the chassis number for this car as would be interesting to confirm this is a "PP" which I suggest it is and be nice to know what number it is?

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow! That is huge money. Just think of how many laps . . .
I suggest that with this being a tech pack car that it was not a track car but one never knows??

Oh no. Now a tech pack car can't do laps? The cooler thing is spreading like herpes.

I bet that's why the exec who likely owned this one is selling it

A fool and his money are soon parted.
I would not use this one sale as an indication of market value.

How's this not surprising. I find it beyond surprising, more like absurd. It has 9k miles. Nobody knows what they did with it. They might have thrashed it around with every shift at redline.

Unless there's some twisted collector value on a pp car (i doubt it with 9k miles), if that car's worth 60k then my 2k mile track pack is worth $90k.
It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Agree with you, except this wasn't some palm beach glitzy event for rich old dudes, it's a dealer auction in michigan, which I imagine attended by gritty, hardened street-smart guys... Bizarre.

Nobody's disputing that, we're just trying to rationalize a transaction that doesn't seem to make much sense on its face.

Obviously it made sense to someone. And also obviously different peoples' minds work differently. People are in different positions with different planned uses for the car and different amounts of money in their bank accounts. Someone had the money, wanted the car and decided the price was worth it. Doesn't seem difficult to rationalize to me.

You should try to get $90k for your track pack if you think you really can. Why not? Then buy a 2017.

Respect your comments but obviously this car did not get bid to over $60K by itself and suggest that there were a number of bidders interested in this car therefore it had much interest by more than one enthusiast.

Have you ever owned a Pilot Production car or know much about them?

Maybe this car is "PP001" or maybe some other number but there certainly is a following for these unique cars and the general public confirmed that.

I suggest that going forward more PP cars will come up for sale at Manheim including an "R" model or two and you can bet that similar pricing will fall into place subject to the Manheim Report which typically is quite accurate.

It is interesting how people such as yourself consider this purchaser to be a twisted collector without knowing him/her or much about this car.

Lastly, who are you and I to suggest how people should spend their hard earned money and if we disagree with their choice they are considered twisted?
