Hey guys,
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger but just want to know how's the pricing sound? I'm looking at a 2016, triple yellow mustang GT Premium with PP. Pricing is 39732 OTD with tax and licensing. I wasn't able to get the 0% but got 1.9 at 72 months. I'm not a huge fan of the color, but I haven't had much luck finding a premium GT with the PP.

For that price it better be 401a with Nav , ACC, and alarm or the price is too high.

Have you done an autotrader search 100 mile radius?

Very good/fair price in California.
I simply do not understand the mentality of this forum in quoting OTD pricing. Taxes, doc fees, title fees, trade in credits all work differently in different states which means a car can sell for the exact price and the OTD price could swing wildly between states especially if a trade with equity is involved. I also don't get the concept of folks stating price plus delivery (I'm not talking about private shipping but the standard destination listed on every MSRP sheet. Destination, gas guzzler tax (GT350 world) are all MSRP included items and NOT items you break out of MSRP.

For a real comparison you just need to compare the MSRP price vs what you paid for the car-the agreed upon price for the car by itself (with everything that is listed on the MSRP sheet included and that means the destination charge) before application of rebates, trade in credits, incentives etc.

The OP listed an OTD price in Ca which means about 10 percent of at price went to sales tax and registration fees (this can and do vary by county by up to 1 percent.). Sales tax at 8-9 percent, DMV fees about 1percent, doc fees set at a $80 max by statute.

Thus the OP will pay about $35500 to 36,000 for the car before taxes and fees. The measure of "the deal" will be the comparison of that figure vs the MSRP -the bottom line big number on the MSRP sheet (which includes destination).

What the OP needs to states is what is the final price on the MSRP sheet.

What you're going to find is, many states put a cap on total vehicle sales tax. Here in South Carolina were capped at $300 max sales tax on motor vehicles. What you'll find is, dealers in the state will have higher prices which will compensate. I picked up my 2016 GTPP for an OTD price a bit under invoice. While Koons does have outstanding prices (if you can find what you're looking for), when you factor in the sales tax for those who live on the east coast, they are likely spending the same OTD price as I did.

Unless the OP is open to shipping a vehicle across country to save a few pennies (it's not likely going to be much), IMHO he's better off buying the best price locally and developing a relationship with the dealer.

Before taxes, I was $34,500 for all options including PP except adaptive cruise control/auto wipers, Recaros, and any more expensive paint (which is f'ing ridiculous to charge for since those chip off, too). And I still feel I paid too much. We need to know the pre-tax/pre-fee price and know what fees you're being charged (itemized) to be able to assess your deal. Tax rates are different everywhere you go, fees are, too.

You should be able to get a GT PP base for like $30K (pre-tax/fee).

But as far as I can see, I'd be telling your dealer to go fly a kite.

Also, resale on yellow cars is abysmal.

I've been looking for a 16' GT PP (0%/72mos) for a two weeks. I had to look 800 miles away from Ohio. X-Plan was $34k
