Hello everyone, đź‘‹

The windows in my 2016 Ford Mustang GT Convertible do not roll up automatically. However, they roll down automatically when I open the roof, both using the interior buttons(driver side) and the key fob.

A few more details:
  1. All windows roll down with no issues using the key fob âś…
  2. I can roll down the front windows with no issues using the driver-side buttons, but the automatic roll-up does not work for the rear windows (I think that's normal since I don't feel/hear a double-click on this button) âś…
  3. For some reason the passenger window does not roll down automatically using the passenger-side button â›”
  4. When pressing the driver-side button, the front windows roll up for about half a second, then stop â›”
  5. When holding the interior button, the front windows (driver and passenger) roll up at different speeds â›”
  6. I tried holding the interior buttons to reset the windows, but it didn’t help/work ⛔
  7. I've already checked fuse boxes. Power distribution box: fuses 11, 15, 17; Passenger compartment fuse panel: fuses 23, 26, 29, 30. And all of these fuses look good âś…

What could be wrong? Do I need to replace the window power motors, or is there something else I should try first? It seems odd that I can roll down the passenger window using the key fob, by opening the convertible top, and by pressing the driver’s button, but it won't roll down automatically from the passenger-side button. Maybe the problem is the passenger’s motor, but can it really affect the driver’s window in this case? I would really appreciate any suggestions, help or tips.

Thanks in advance!

#s 1 and 2 are normal.
Without hands on I'd think #3 would be a switch or possibly the window/door/bcm issue.
#4, see #3
#5, my first thought is dirty tracks. Try cleaning and lubrication before loading the parts cannon.
#6, I believe that resetting the windows only affects the small drop/lift when opening/ closing the doors.
Window control logic is complicated and controlled by the bcm, door and window control modules. Their operation can be affected by outside factors like dirty tracks, dry tracks, misaligned tracks and hardware. With your symptoms I wouldn't start throwing parts at it with the possible exception of the passenger switch. Though even then I'd try to test first.

@ORRadtech thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it 🤝 I'm gonna try removing the door panel to check, clean, and lubricate the tracks first. May I ask if you know what kind of lubricant would be best for this purpose?

I'm sure Ford specifies something, I just don't know what it would be.
When my rear windows wouldn't go completely up (there's a long thread in the convertible section - more than one I think) I cleaned the tracks and lightly applied a silicone based dielectric grease. No further issues since late 2019.

When top is closed rear windows up first. I clean and lube tracks and rubbers in early spring and late fall. Only take 10 min.

I also use dielectric grease to lubricate the tracks. Works like a champ.
