Not sure if this article has been posted before, i thought it was interesting to see the inside of the resonator ~ assuming this was the final product, maybe someone can validate? Still trying to decide whether or not to replace.

(sorry pic so big)

It flows well. Only reason to replace is sound in my opinion.

Where in Fl are you. I just removed an h pipe and exhaust already cut to fit Roush axle backs. It is going up for sale soon. Pm if interested.

I had an exhaust shop remove it and replace with dynomax bullets. 10/10 sound difference. Perfect level of loud with Roush AB now.

It was pretty heavy when they cut it out.

The stock unit is quite heavy. You can usually drop around 20lbs by swapping to a lighter single-chamber design!
If I remember correctly the resonator itself weighs 20lbs. My two 18" body race bullets weigh almost as much as it did but they sound better.

Those of you swapping the resonator out for a custom X or H with Race Bullet or similar, did you notice if it reduced rasp with your setup at all? Im not a huge fan of how raspy these cars seem to be and would love to smooth out the sound some and with the X pipe I tossed on last night, its more raspy than ever. Ive read the S197 guys swear by replacing the resonators with Race Bullets to tame it but wanted to hear some first hand accounts.

Do you have a video of the sound? I have been wanting a bit more out of my Roush ABs but have been hesitant to pull the trigger on an H-pipe for fear it would ruin my daily driver.
