Mine said the samething. I actually called last week and he said the order is locked and cannot be changed. Not sure what that means really since normally I just go to the dealership and buy off the lot. Just have to be patient I guess.mine told me october
Locked is when the kits needed to build your car are set/built, it will be getting bucked and entering production soon.Mine said the samething. Its very discouraging. if you have a stock order....and your stock order isnt going to be built until the week of the 13th. Then us RETAIL orders wont be till after that. Meaning prolly past november. I'm done waiting.Just spoke to the Inventory Manager at my dealership... before I get into it, here's a quick recap of my situation:
Stock Order
Order Date: 7/3
VIN assigned: 9/11
I asked if he could give me an update on my build date, and he said it has been scheduled for the week of October 13th. He then said I should expect to receive delivery at the dealership (in Philadelphia) in the 3rd or 4th week of November... NOVEMBER!!
So basically, I better get my snow tires ready... SIGH.
I wouldn't be too upset about getting yours in November.
I ordered our car for our business back in May and still haven't got a vin. Was planning to have the car for SEMA but that is just a fallacy at this point. I'll be lucky to see December at the rate Ford is cherry picking their orders.
I can only imagine how frustrating that is. It's just a bummer when they originally told me September, and now I'll be lucky to get it before Thanksgiving.
And no offense, but the weather in Irvine is a little different than Philadelphia. We'll have nothing but snow and freezing temperatures for four months after my mustang is delivered. Not exactly optimal driving conditions.
Oh well, is what it is. What's another 8 weeks??
I take no offense. I understand you're going to have limited drive time due to weather constraints. Regardless of when my car arrives its going to be in pieces while we part it out for the building or new parts.
I sold my car back in December and have been alternating between my motorcycles through the rain, heat and assorted nice weather.
I would really not like to ride through another shitty rain season but it looks like that's whats going to happen.
It is very disheartening to see orders pulled 2-3 months after my initial order. It puts a very bad taste in my mouth.
Here is the response I received about whether I would see my car before nov 4.
"I have inquired internally I am told if your vehicle is not scheduled at this time more than likely (based on current production schedules) you will be lucky if you see it before the SEMA show. The best bet is to keep checking with you dealer to see if it has been scheduled. "
I feel for my dealer. He has several of the local companies cars around here on order and hes getting bombarded with status updates. He did say according to his regional rep that the cars should get pulled next week. I just chuckled and told him I wouldn't hold my breath.Ugghh, that really sucks, I'm sorry man. I actually thought about that today... I'd like to sell the car I have now, but then what happens if the delays continue?? Kinda puts all of us in a shitty position.
The vagueness and lack of information from Ford itself is the most disheartening part of this whole process. I feel like the dealers are in the dark about everything, just like we are.
