Alright here is another update this one is targeted at the LE customers I looked for a specific LE forum for this but this is the best place for this info. Mods move if you see fit. The first LE serial number one is to be built on September 8th 2014.
For some reason the Official 50 Year LE thread is located in the Photos/Videos/Photoshop forum.

It's the thread I use as the go to for news on the LE...I may be missing out if there is another main LE thread-->

Just stopped by a dealership to test drive a new Flex. As we were searching the "Ford Dealer Dashboard", I asked the sales person when the 2015 Mustangs will be on their lot. He did a quick search and said no Mustangs were currently in production and he couldn't take orders yet. How accurate is this?

He obviously doesn't like making money is the short answer. The long answer is that while Mustangs are not rolling out of the factory yet, orders have been possible for months now. I ordered on May 21st.

He is totally inaccurate. There may not be retail or stock order Mustangs in production yet but retooling and test builds are going on and the order banks have been open since May. I believe there is a hold on any new Retail orders but the order can be submitted it just will not be scheduled till 9/11/14. This is for Coupes only if you were inquiring about a convertible his statement would be correct.

He doesn't get credit for the Mustang sale until it is on the lot and you pay for it. He has the flex there and wants you to buy it. Not sure if my calculator goes high enough to count the number of times I would walk into a dealership, ask questions about one vehicle I was interested in and have someone try to sell me something else. Find a salesman that will help you get want you want. You almost have to shop salesmen like cars.

Na, I don't think it was a commission problem. I already told him I was getting a Flex as a family hauler regardless, but was considering selling my truck for a down payment on a Mustang. He said he'd wait and let them work the bugs out on the 2015 and look at the 2016. He said if I was just dying to get into a Mustang, I can get a 2014 at discount, but otherwise advised me to wait.

Work out the bugs? I mean I know it's an all new platform, but did he forget that the Mustang has been around for 50 years? It kind of is a major selling point of this car. :frusty:

Not according to Raj Nair.... unless things have changed and it got delayed.

From his interview with C&D:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php/car-and-driver-1904.html

"The order bank is now open. Both the coupe and the convertible will be out before the end of the year."
Correction; Legitimate Convertible Orders with Prices are (not) be accepted until JOB2. Attempting to Order a Convertible now simply shows error message that numerous Parts are missing and Convertibles are being held pending JOB2.

Well, to be fair, the EB and suspension are new for the first time in 50 years. Those have been not been vetted yet.

I got 9/27 from my dealer last night... they recently went through training as well... so hopefully that starts up.... that was only job 1. Nothing off the second round yet
All these rumors about delays made me check with my dealer and Tricia. This is what I got back from Tricia:

Hi Tricia,
My VIN is 1FA6P8TH6F5301248. Could you tell me if anything has changed on my build week? My dealer told me a month ago it was going to be the week of August 28th.
Thanks,
Don
Hey Don,

I checked your order and the status is the same as the last time we spoke. We are still waiting on an ETA.

I do not have an exact date but it is showing that it will be late-August which is subject to change.

Please continue to check in with me for updates.

Have a great day! :D

Tricia
My order was the first order in NE Florida on 5/20 as part of a dealer stock order. I know, I know, just because it is built late August, early September, doesn't mean that I will get it in September or even October, but I can still hope to be at the front of the line :bump:

In-Dealership Training - Cars at Dealerships

Here's an Ecoboost Premium that was at my local dealership yesterday for dealership training. This was a great opportunity to see a pre-production vehicle close up. I received a call from my dealership however I was on the short list for placing an order. Give your local dealership a call and see if they have a training day, it was well worth it.

My sales guy got it from a credible source....he has been doing it for over 20 years... I would guess that is credible enough for me
