I was at the Austin Auto Show yesterday and spoke with a few different people that all told me the same thing. They said that the order bank wouldn't be open tomorrow due to having to republish the order guide. Apparently there was a lot of confusion in the order guide as it was. Not sure how true any of this actually is. Just going based on what I was told from the Ford Display Manager and a salesman from Truck City Ford in Buda that was there.

Holy Crap! Really??

Honestly, in today's information age is it really this hard to get accurate information??

I must say this is soooooo frustrating. :frusty:

You think ford would have "officially" put out something by now (and Yes, including specs and pricing). I'm sure a lot of people follow this forum daily like I do and man does my head spin from all of the different information that everyone is getting.

Amazing...absolutely amazing.....

As a general rule one should never trust anything told to them at the public show days at auto shows. 99.99% of the reps there could not tell you the program code of this car much less any reliable info on ordering.

I set an appointment to build and order my EcoBoost Mustang at 6PM on Tuesday 4/20. The dealership has not called to cancel my appointment, so I think we are a go for the opening of the order bank tomorrow. (I'll revisit this post if I hear differently.)

Pricing Date??
Its my understanding that on May 20th, or maybe May 24th ( to coincide with European orders) we will be able to go to the Ford Website and build and Price a 2015 Mustang.
Is this a correct statement or just an assumption???
Thx:help::help:
I was in the dealership yesterday, 5/18, and he showed me where the order bank will open on Tuesay, 5/20. We made an appointment for 6PM to order my EcoBoost Premium Mustang. He also said $500 would be the down payment and that he would accept X-Plan (Mustang Club of America.)

Do you have to have your x-plan pin at time of order/deposit? Or when you actually purchase the car? I just signed up with MCA so it will be another 55 days before I get my pins. Wondering if I can order now tho...

I would think you would need it when the car comes in and money exchaged. I also signed up for mca but never had to pay 50$.. I guess I gotta find out why or I wont get the pin i'd assume.

Yup just got off the line with my dealer and he said I could order and I would need my xplan pin at time of delivery. Plenty of time. I have several dealerships lined up to call me when the order banks open that said they would not charge more than sticker for a GT.

Getting pretty excited now. I am actually ok with only having the option of 18" wheels with all season tires because I'll get the car in the fall anyway. Gives me time to save for some nice bigger wheels and summer tires just in time for the heat :)

You need to show your MCA card (looks like a credit card) that shows the date you signed up, with the pin. Anyone can generate a pin, but you'll need membership proof when you do the sales contract.

Ok so maybe stupid question but this link is the one posted in the OP of this thread.

http://www.donlen.com/buildstart-ford.aspx

It was last updated on 4/10/14 which pushed the order date back from 5/13 to 5/20 IIRC. It still shows 5/20 but 4/4/14 (supposedly the last date for 2014 orders) came and went and aren't people still ordering them? Just trying to figure out if these dates are reliable.

If you sign up now, you are only required to be a member for 2 months to qualify. The cars will not be delivered till September, so this will not be a deal breaker for most dealers to order the car for you.

the best reasonable explanation for that link is the little caveat at the bottom.

"1 - All dates are estimated and subject to change."

I understand that. My point is that this was last updated AFTER the supposed last date for ordering 2014's. Even if subject to change, you would think they would have changed that 4/4/14 date when they last updated it ..... if the info is accurate.... unless I am missing something about 2014 orders

4 different dealers told me today that they can not order 14s anymore.
