2015 Mustang Orders Placed Thread (Vote/Share Here)

Many dealerships prefer to order it retail because it'll help their allocation next year and on special models.

That's what I figured, too.

My post above was just my nice way of saying "bullsh!t". ;)

He said that his DORA says typy x, but it's still possible that the dealer changed something after the order was placed, that happens all the time.

My original VOC said order date of 7/7 and priority 25, I was at the dealer last week and he gave me a printout and it all of a sudden said ordered of 7/15 & priority 20. Something had gone wrong with it a week after I placed it and he said they resubmitted it as a completely new order, but it still kept the same order #

This is my first post on here, I have been lurking for months, but I thought I would share with you my situation so far. I ordered my "retail" 401A, PP, Race red on 6-5. I have patiently waited and watched posts, trying to weed thru all the info as to when I may see this car in my driveway. I got a little antsy after seeing all the members that received VINs today, as I thought today was my day. It was not. I called my dealer, explaining to him that I have been monitoring COTUS, and no activity on my car. He told me they have the same info that has been posted here MANY times, that the factory is "filling all dealer "Stock Orders" FIRST, and he would be calling his Rep in the A.M. to expedite if possible. In the mean time he "Mirrored" my original order exactly, and ordered it as a "Dealer stock" unit, not cancelling my original order. He said which ever car gets a VIN first, he will cancel the second car. (Which I told him he MUST)!;). I now have two orders in COTUS, I will let everyone know how this plays out. I will call my dealer in the morning to get my new DORA. He stated he ordered it with the highest priority. My original code was a 10.

I'm sure you don't but do you have 2 deposits now too? I hope the best for you but I'm guessing the new DORA will say job 2. I don't think they can 'expedite' anything at this time in the order process. Good luck and post back! Seems like the pre-orders are all over the place. I know my dealer didn't have much of a clue as to what changed what on orders.

I just meant that since no Retail orders have been pulled to be scheduled yet, that it's impossible that his Retail received a VIN.

Yep... probably was changed to Stock without his knowledge.

Hello Michael,

Your priority code is 10. This means the dealer has your vehicle as one of the 1st orders. I recommend checking in with your dealer for additional details to your order as he will be in the best position to assist.

Since you ordered with the X-plan through your dealer it’s automatically a retail order.

It's posssible something on the order could have changed within the last two weeks, otherwise you're the only, or first, retail that has a VIN since oktb hasn't been given yet.

Just PMed Ford Service again, we'll see what they say. Don't know why they would change my order now after all this time without me asking for them to do it.

Either way you got your VIN, that's what's important. Ask them if you got a build date yet.
I got my VIN yesterday also and just found out this morning that my build is Scheduled to Week of Oct-06-2014

Just ask the dealer to email you the DORA. It'll show the order type that it currently has.

It would indeed be interesting news if it was truly a retail order as that would indicate that next week we'll likely see lots of retail orders being picked up.

As for why use stock vs retail. Only for the very initial release are the retail orders being held up. Once things get rolling, retail orders will always be built before stock orders. There are even a number of dealers that thought this was going to be true from the very beginning. I know my dealer was surprised his stock order got picked up before my retail order. It's just the first couple months of production apparently when stock orders take precedence as they get up to speed.

My guess is, once they flip the switch, there won't be many if any stock orders seeing the production line for a few months, esp since demand will spike pretty quickly as these things hit the lots. Maybe end of Feb or so they'll get some out, just in time to fill the lots for the Spring rush.

Talked with my dealer this morning and what I thought was a retail order is actually a dealer inventory order. They had one ordered very similar to mine and they just made some minor changes to match mine. However, don't understand why it's still in order processing. I thought dealer orders were either in production or finished. Or are dealer stock still being made? Duh! I guess I am just a bit miffed to hear about people placing orders a full month behind mine and they show where theirs are finished and awaiting shipment.

Contacted my dealer today and still no updates. Ordered 7/4 and still no Vin#. He did say they are still pulling orders for the next few days. But from what I have seen the dealers are mostly in the dark like the rest of us! :frusty:
