I talked to XXXXXX (who orders the Vehicle's) and this was his response.



The orders were prioritized based on model (the limited edition one was put up to priority 10 for several reasons). We did have 4 retail Mustang orders placed within a one week period, but whether it’s a 10 or 15 is not a huge factor. Allocation and commodities usually determine how fast something gets built rather than priority number. All the retail orders we have are different and one may get built ahead of another regardless of priority. 99.99% of the time we get our retail orders built as quickly as possible.





As you read the Limited Edition bumped the priority BUT that does not mean it will be here first.

^^^^This pisses me off because I was the one that had to hammer on them to order the car on the 20th. It took four days to get the car ordered because like many dealers they had no clue the banks opened up. I understand the LE took priority over mine because I am a X-Plan and the LE went for $20K over MSRP but....really? I fully understand the LE's might be built after mine due to content (limited commodities, special one off colors) but this has not been the best experience because to this particular dealer Mustang is just another unit. I only ordered from them because another did not respond and they actually let me test drive a Track Pack '14 (i.e. extended beat the piss out of it) so I felt obligated to give them a shot.

If they get their retail orders before mine I will be unhappy but as others posted that may be a good thing because they will get it out of their system. My hope is my basic 300A which has less content will build sooner than the others.

All of this will go away once I see a VIN, until then.... :frusty:

I'm not completely sure what you're upset about here. LEs should be first not because of the MSRP or how much it sold for but because ford said they will be "among the first off the line" so I mean if they already have the orders for those and they are supposedly built first I don't see any reason why yours if not LE would be put in front of them (unless solely to test production before building those premium vehicles)

Hi ______,

I just checked the status of the order and it states that the build is unscheduled due to material holds. I would find it strange if all of the orders for the 2015 LE would not be the same (material hold)

I reached out to my Ford Rep for more information and I will let you know when I have more detailed info.

I still haven't gotten a call from my dealer that the order has been placed - he said he'd call me as soon as he placed it.

Has anyone that was told their LE was put on material hold been able to place your order yet?

Not sure what the material hold is...mine reads "In Order Processing - Unscheduled- Clean May-20-2014" in the tracking system as of last week. It has never said Material Hold

My LE was submitted on 6/9 and has shown as being "In Order Processing" since that time. Submitted as priority 10. No indication of material hold as yet.

I don't think priorities are going to make that much of a difference... Its the high volume dealers are the ones that will get theirs prioritized and will trickle down to the smaller guys based on allocations. Don't get me wrong... I would love to see my Mustang too but I can wait... It's hard, I know, but at least its not another note for me at least. Enjoying the fact I have 2 paid off vehicles and scraping/shaving of various bills here and there just to make everything a reality when the mustang does get here, I won't have to survive on MRE's for a bit...

I would not want one of my cars to be of the first "batch" or even the second... Third maybe ok but I am also a firm believer of Not getting my car finished on a Monday or Friday as my Audi salesguy put it.... Mondays the workers are hung over and Fridays they just want to get the hell out...lol

I ordered my ecoboost on 5/20 and just got my VIN and build date of the week of August 28th. Dealer sent me the info, but still not showing up in the order tracking website. I'm hoping for a mid September delivery. That'll work for me! (Well, as long as they don't finish it on Mondays (hung over), Tuesday (hung over from Monday night football), Wednesday (can't wait to get off to celebrate hump day), Thursdays (hung over from celebrating hump day) or Fridays (can't wait to get the off to start drinking the weekend away.) :cheers:

Great news! I ordered on 5/20 as well. Hopefully this is good news for the rest of us that ordered the first day

Asked a dealer about what kind of inventory they ordered so I can know if I need to custom order mine or not, or if something in their fleet is what I am looking after.

Seems like this dealership is behind the curve. Shouldn't they already have placed their first order? Other dealerships will have their allocations filled a full month ahead of them by now. Seems like a marketing ploy, but ultimately, they can't build your mustang until you tell them what you want.... I'd suggest Ruby Red! :love:
