Clearwater here, Orlando has some good tracks so maybe all us locals can meet up there towards end of year.
I'm in! Bithlo Raceway is a nice track and I could call up my Orlando friends with some really sick late models. I've also been trying to drag my Father-in-law to Bithlo so we can test is 2013 Boss Laguna Seca.

See I was thinking just opposite. Why would Ford want one of us (crazy diehards) to pull up to a red light and see some kid in his new 2015 when we've had our orders placed since May. Wouldn't they want an early shipment of sweet custom orders rolling around town like billboards? Take care of the customers that take care of you.
Retail will get theirs first. I wish you were right though.

I don't want to argue:rant:, but I was told by my dealer that stock orders came first, followed by retail. That is why they put my order in with the stock orders. I guess we will find out in about 110 days or so.

My dealer did tell me the same thing and said he'd do the same thing. The reason given was there are manufacturing issues that creep up in the first few weeks of production and they would rather iron those out on cars sitting in lots than on a custom order customer car.

I am of two minds. While I'd like to drive the car a bit before putting it away for the winter I also don't want a car with a bunch of problems.

If only NFS was as good as Forza 5. I hate that I can't change the control scheme to something I like and am forced into their controls. Bought it, played it for 30 minutes, never touched it again. Played Forza 5 until I took gold in every race. Now there are 2 new tracks, so I'm replaying every race on those new tracks right now. Sure wish there was a 2015 in this game.

I agree but it also feels good to release some of my road rage on some drivers in there... Forza is definitely more realistic

I'm seriously thinking of changing my order... I have an order for a Ecoboost Premium fully upgraded but the more I think about it I think I would be a lot happier with a GT. The sound, muscle and the fact that it's a GT. I'm getting the Ecoboost because of the MPG but I'm thinking the GT will be more enjoyable to drive. Even to the point that it will make it worth paying that extra money for the gas. I thought the difference in price was greater so I never really bothered to priced a fully loaded GT. the difference between the two is about $7,000 from comparing the two I think it might be worth paying that extra $$ to get the GT.
On a side note I'm surprised how much hate I get from people when I say I'm getting a Mustang!!! and it doubles the second I say I'm not getting a 5.0 lol is this normal??

Has anyone jumped from Ecoboost to GT this way?

I struggled with the decision between the GT and Ecoboost early in May, but ultimately chose the Ecoboost, not because of the cost, but because of the future cost. I plan to keep this car for 10 years. In May 2004, 10 years ago, gas just peaked above $2 for the first time. I don't know about all of you, but my pay has not doubled in the last 10 years. I'm just concerned the dent $7 a gallon will make in my wallet (at 20 MPG) in 2020. So... I'm keeping my Ecoboost and planning to get a tune to kick up the HP above 350 (I hope.)

I know, I know, I shouldn't be getting a Mustang if I can't afford the gas, but I'm just trying to think down the road how I will feel surrounded by electric and hybrid cars getting 40-60 mpg. I'll be happy with my 30+ even though I won't have the vroom, vroom, of the V8.

The ecoboost is very inciticing. Especially for what you get for the price. But I know if I bought the ecoboost, the first time a 5.0 lined up next to me....i'd be upset I didnt have that motor.

I went GT for exactly that reason (sound and power). I want a muscle car and I want everything that makes it a muscle car. I thought about EB at first, because of the MPG, but decided now is as good a time as any to go with a hot-rod. Gas isn't going to be getting cheaper, so get my hot-rod fix out of the way.

The thing to remember about the EB is that it's turbo powered. The MPG rating put on the car will be deceptive. There's a thread that suspects that you'll have to putt around never getting into the turbo in order to achieve the posted numbers as the MFGs are good at driving them the efficient way (aka boring). If you want to drive the car like a Muscle Car and get it up and moving off the line, I bet the numbers are not going to add up quite like you expect.

Which is another reason why I only briefly contemplated the EB. We don't really know what the realistic MPG will be for reasonably sporty driving. Not looking for balls-to-the-wall numbers to be great, but nice sporty driving taking advantage of the power when I need to. I think the EB sales numbers won't really start to climb until it gets in the market and the MPG numbers are proven to the point that people see the value (besides the people buying it just because it's cheaper). Among the people that want a hot-rod but also save a bit in gas.

Perhaps when I want a new car after my '15, the EB will be the clear winner for sporty and efficiency. Time will tell.

I was going for the same reasons. I don't plan on babying the car and driving like an old lady. I'm going to enjoy this car and so I will probably get horrible MPG. When I first made the order I knew very little about turbos. After reading more about them and the different threads I've read here I realized that with the way I drive it will actually not be the better choice for MPG. I'll end up missing out on having a true muscle car and still get bad MPG. Your right about gas prices, its not going to get cheaper. I didn't even think about it that way but it makes sense. Now is probably the best time to get a muscle car and enjoy it.

So this morning I went back to the dealer and changed my order!! and I feel GREAT about it!!!!! I feel proud to say I ordered a Mustang. Before I wouldn't want to tell people and have to hear about how I shouldn't get a Mustang and then hear about how it should at least be a 5.0 blah blah blah.
I know I could cut the cost down by not adding the Navigation, the Adaptive cruise control and the somewhat useless Reverse Park Assist but might as well get it fully loaded. I plan to KEEP this car. I don't want to look back and say "I wish I had..."
Sooo if one of the Admins can switch my vote on the Thread to GT Premium that would be great
I'm getting X-Plan pricing.

congrats on your order but to set the truth about turbos, they actually do get better gas mileage... you can run it hard as you want it only affects gas mileage slightly but that is dependant on what type of fuels you use.. General rule is high compression, supercharged or turbo it is better to use @ least 91 octane or you are totally defeating purpose. most turbocharged vehicles such as VW and Audi REQUIRE at minimum 91 octane. I've got one for the last 14 years and I can say I definitely am not easy on it. my average for a tank of gas 16 gal was 330 miles or better without letting the tank get below 1/4... On a long highway trip I got just under 500 miles... either way though v8 or ecoboost, on Ford's engines it is best to go by the recommended fuel for your optimal mpg and performance. biggest thing with a turbo is engine oil maintenance.. It's a ritual but the best oils like mobile 1 (synthetic) is my choice..... my 5.4 on f150 averages 14 most of the time... I also only have 330 or so hp compared to today's engines.
