Has anyone heard that if you order Navigation it will take longer to get your car because they have to send it out to a third party?
This is news to me. Mine has navigation and is awaiting shipment.
Mine has NAV and is also in awaiting shipment stage, so I'd say no delay (at least for that reason.)

Dealer Stock Orders vs Retail Orders most likely.

whats the difference between them? I mean aren't the dealer stock orders the ones the dealer's themselves make for inventory? how could a regular person put in a dealer stock order?

Some dealers will make one of their allocation orders go to a specific customer. It's almost like a guaranteed sale. A lot of them are doing this. Mine did it for me, but my Nephew is a salesman there. It's not something that they normally do. Other dealers have just done it for the customers who have asked, some even without having been asked, I believe.

I think you could be out of luck this late in the ordering process. I mean, you could, I just don't think it would make much difference. I could certainly be wrong on that, though. You'd almost be better off asking if they have any already ordered ones that are close to what you want. If it's not 100%, you may be able to get them to change the options on one of their already ordered cars so that it's what you want and get it earlier that way. I just depends on whether or not they have theirs already scheduled and have a VIN + build date.

Ford dealers, please correct me if I'm wrong. Just trying to help out, but I don't want to give misinformation.

wait so you're saying the dealerships will have mustangs ready to be sold before the people who pre-ordered them will ever get there's?

Depending on when you ordered, yes. That's the purpose of dealer allocation orders, to have them in showrooms and for sale to the public as soon as they can.

Yes several of us that ordered on opening day have a strong possibility of seeing our car on the road before ours are built.

I was thinking of asking my dealer to add navigation to my order. It's still in "Order Processing" as a dealer order. I know there was earlier speculation that changing options at this time would not impact final assembly time. Can anyone confirm this?

I think will depend on whether or not your car has been assigned a build date/week (i.e. been scheduled). COTUS isn't the best source for whether or not it has one, though, so don't base it on that. Ask Tricia (FordService on here) or your dealer first.

I did this two weeks ago and it did not affect my build date of 8/26 since my car was built right on the original schedule. I did give them three weeks or so heads up though.
