Wouldn't mind a few of these touches for the special anniv edition....

Iacocca badged alum door sill plates, diamond design leather seats with custom embroidery, leather wrapped steering wheel wearing an "I" badge and a signature dash plaque with serial number (ok this one we can leave off since only 45 of these were made... let's hope they make more than 50 of the 2015 ;)).

Now THAT is what I'm talkin about. If the interior really was as nice as these pics look like. I'm not asking for mercedes quality, but just some nicer leather and a few premium touches.

They only made 45 of these? At what price?

I gotta admit I envy the interior of my buddy's 3 series bimmer every time I sit in it. The car is crap as far as power and no personality but at least I enjoy sitting in it. It's not just comfort, but the feel and quality. The interior of the Mustangs havent changed in like a decade. So much damn plastic.

Have we heard anything about the interior on the 2015 mustang yet? Any info?

Sounds like you are hoping for another Ghia. I think theres a reason they stopped making those.

That's the Italian designed one? I'm not looking for a Euro model or anything... just put some money into upgrading the interior thats all.

The S550 interior will get the new corporate switchgear like the Fusion and Escape have. I'm hoping they lose the door lock stalks and use an LED setup like the Fusion has.

Overall, I think the dash shape will be similar to the current car, as well as the door panels, but will make use of better materials and feel more upscale. MFT will be present, and the seats will (hopefully) gain a little more bolstering on the base level, and offer Recaros as an option.

Agree, I'd be happy with a blend of the more upscale feel of the Fusion cabin materials, some soft touch plastics at least and a less retro interior to go with the likely more modern exterior. Would like to see them lose some of the buttons on the main console, too clunky.

There's supposed to be a new "Rid Brick" premium leather package for the '14 Fusion. Not sure about the color, but we'll see how premium this actually is and if any of this makes its way to mustang land.

I feel like the dash shape hasn't changed for ages. Time for an overhaal now? ... cant they make a more upscale interior from taking from the Fusion? tired of it all looking a like.

I'm interested to see that as well. I think the red, and possibly a blue leather for Mustang could work really well. The new Fusion, Escape, and Explorer interiors are fantastic compared to the current Mustang, so even small changes and new materials could make a huge impact.

I'd like to see it keep the double bubble dash and similar door panels to what it has now. I don't see them needing to go wild and make huge changes. A simple evolution of the original design with some modern flair and tech would be fantastic.

Those are standard color options you're talking about for the s550? I'm hoping for a special anniv package like they offered on the 40th. That crimson red and tan interior was pretty slick lookin'.

Yea a few touches here and there is all they reallly need to class it up. The double hump is classic Mustang IMO,, they gotta keep that.

Last night while searching for something in the back seat reminded me of something the S550 needs. Better interior lighting. I'm not talking about the pretty little ambient lighting but something so you can see in the back seat. The courtesy light puts ZERO light in the back seat area and if you don't have a flash light you ain't finding nothin' back there at night. It's been a complaint of mine from my '06 thru to my '11.

Agreed although I rarely ever have anyone in the back. I've dropped something under the front seat and slid back there and it's impossible to see. The ambient lighting barely helps, but it is a nice touch. Anyone know if the Fusion interior lighting is better? Asking because it looks like the interior of the new Mustang (and exterior even) getting a lot of it from the new Fusion.

Was searching for info on the interior of recent Ford cars and came across that the Ford Kuga interior seats have special designs that is saving weight and more comfortable. Hope they bring something like this to the 2015 mustang.

"While working on the seats for the all-new Ford Kuga, Kolich studied dozens of chairs used outside of the automotive industry for ideas about what makes a comfortable throne. “The office chair industry is one of the major industries we’re looking at in terms of construction, materials and durability,” he said. “If you look at the advancements in office chairs from the 1960s – when luxury meant big, puffy cushions – to where they are now, with thin, ergonomic chairs that still feel luxurious, it’s definitely a major change in the way seats are designed.”

The Ford Kuga hasn’t been fitted with anything like those modern, high-end office chairs yet – future vehicles will get even slimmer seats – but slimmer seat backs and optimised cushions contribute to increased foot and knee room for rear seat passengers.

By using the same computer simulation tools available to crash safety engineers, the team has developed an award-winning, world-class front seat structure architecture that is 10 per cent lighter while meeting global requirements and providing enhanced functionality. These achievements are enabled by use of high-strength steels, laser welding, intelligent part integration, targeted use of engineered plastics and detailed structural-section analyses. This work has resulted in seven Ford-exclusive patent applications to date."
