Read with tongue firmly in cheek.........Sniffpetrol is written by Richard Porter, the main script writer for Top Gear, so this points fun at all the usual UK prejudices against American cars ;)

http://sniffpetrol.com/2013/12/05/ford-announces-new-high-tech-mustang/

Ford has announced the long-awaited new generation Mustang and confirmed that the car will be officially imported to the UK. As a result, the new model is to be made in right-hand-drive and, for the first time, it will be fitted with a system called ‘steering’.
‘This is the most technically advanced Mustang we’ve ever made,’ said chief engineer Stopp Hammertime. ‘For example, the new ‘steering’ facility takes the circular driver’s grab handle, airbag mount and iPad rest of the previous Mustang and, for the first time, connects it to a series of shafts, pinions and racks in order to permit the driver to take control of the front wheels, thereby allowing them to negotiate road conditions such as ‘cowners’. Am I pronouncing that right? Cornours? Whatever it is you Limeyass people call the parts between straightaways.’
Hammertime also noted that the new Mustang will finally get rid of the solid rear axle of previous generations. ‘That’s right,’ he confirmed. ‘Now we’ve gotta sell the ‘Stang in Yewrope the back axle is gonna have something called ‘inderpenderdent suspendionisation’. I think that’s how it’s pronounced. To be honest with you, on the development team we just called it the Pinko Commie ***got Axle
 WHY ARE YOU SIGHING?’

Mr. Hammertime, you need to tell the competition that they "can't touch this."

Couldn't resist ...

I am actually surprised none of the major UK magazine has had a formal road review of the C7 Corvette. There must be some trepidation over there with the new performing crops from the US.

I think the latest copy if Evo has a decent test of the C7, but I've not read it yet. I think there are only a handful of C7 that have been privately imported, so the magazines will have only had a chance to drive cars on the US launch.

I need to check it out. The latest issue usually makes its way over here in the States somewhat later. Actually I remember TopGear magazine had a pretty good article on the C7 quite a few months ago.
I notice in general UK magazines tend to be very condescending toward American made cars but that will change soon :D. With the new crops of sport cars from the States such as the ATS/CTS -V, Corvette, Mustang, Camaro (if they can change the look) you guys better what out.:D
A lot of people here in the States don't know this but I think the #1 car maker in Europe is VW but most people here don't realize that #2 in term of sales in Europe is Ford (if I am not mistaken).

Top Gear has liked the Ford focus & ford's economy cars for a long time, offering them as best value pick for the price.

I like the UK top gear, I frequently disagree but its more a show that shows cars with some humor. Definitely have to FF through parts but the US version is unwatchable.

Funny article.

In 1963 FAV/Alan Mann brought a couple of 7 litre Galaxies over to England to race in the saloon car series against 3.8 litre Jag sedans, Lotus Cortinas, Minis and other proper European competitors. The British motor press was quite critical of the American lorries potential. The first race I remember was in the dry and the Galaxies pretty much lapped the field. The second race I recall was on a wet track and the end result was pvery much the same as the first. The condescending press became very quiet. Results speak loudly.

The Poms generally think a 2Ltr 4 is a performance car, and a 3Ltr is an irresponsible supercar. I think T.T. is something of an exception. This is somewhat ironic as in the 1930's, Mr Bugatti (not British) famously refered to the Racing 6.5L & Blower (S/C) 4.5 L Bentleys as "the fastest lorries (trucks) in the world" as a slight on their comparative massive size.
