What a joke El Cajon Ford is! I love how tons of people have completed orders & these scumbags are still telling me you can't order this car yet.

One of the dealers in Tulsa can't order yet either.

Wouldn't that mean they just didn't sign up with Ford $1K allocation buy in for the GT350? Maybe some dealers just refused to pay the $1K pay to play admission fee.

Small dealer has ordered mine with only ONE allocation not knowing if they can get another one at all. We ordered a R. If this is the case with me then wouldn't the above explain your and the other's cases?

Aren't the SVT "niche" line all hand made? I'd say there will be delays especially with the first batch.

Possible, or I wonder if their regional rep is staging the orders until the factory can formally accept and process them. I placed my order, but I know per the regional rep it won't actually be process until september or so, so it just shows as a material hold in the mean time. It wont be until then will I get a VIN, build date, etc

No they signed up, they sell a fairly large number of Mustangs plus others. Not sure what their delay could be. I will have to ask them again the status.

That's what I was thinking too. It makes sense.

Well I placed mine a month ago and it shows "locked" in the order system for material hold. It does however show a partial vin. My point is if the dealer indeed has an allocation the Ford system will accept it but treat it like I have described my situation. At least that is what the Ford regional rep told the dealer.

Edit: Partial vin is 1FATP8JZ Mean anything to anyone?

Yeah sounds exactly how mine is being handled, it is an order, its basically just sitting there doing nothing until its time to start processing the next block of cars to be built. per the rep, it seems to be a very manual/serial process. Once they get past this first wave, they will then decide build allocations for the next block of cars.

So I wonder if that dealer is just waiting until then to place the orde, so they won't have to answer emails for the next 2 months "so any new news"

The engines are built elsewhere, but the GT350s in all flavors will be assembled at Flat Rock. Many of the parts from the A pillar forward are exclusive to the GT350 and GT350R, so it will take everyone on the line a little time to get used to installing all the different parts. That's why I'm glad they're building 137 of the 2015 "test" models before they get to my 2016.

BTW, SVT as a department at Ford is officially gone, as I was reminded today by Ford. All the SVT employees now work for Ford Performance.

I have the 3.5 ecoboost, but the Limited has 22" (stock) wheels and is 4WD, I also am pretty light on the pedal.

I've also had a 2wd 2013 F150 ecoboost that averaged 20mpgs and my last 2014 XLT ecoboost with 18" stock wheels got 21 avg mpg...
See... I have a concrete foot! My 5L is a 4X4 Supercab w/ 6'5" bed on stock 18's, but I'm having trouble just maintaining the rating even though most of my driving is highway. I already have right at 12k on it... 4mo and 5days old.

Of course, 5,980 lb (with me and my daily stuff in it) doesn't help matters.

Me being in NE Wisconsin, I'd think the same ... but every Mustang I've ordered goes by rail to the Markham rail yard (SW Chicago suburb), then gets transferred onto a truck there. So it certainly makes sense that all Chicagoland bound cars ride the same train and get off at the same yard.

Doug
It's all about the staging lanes, even before they're bought! :D

I would figure 2 - 3 months from the 22nd. Safe ballpark. There is going to be small little delays here and there. That's what I'm advising my clients.
 ... that seems to be too long.

"Gas Guzzler TAX"?!?! That's a thing!?
Oh... you didn't know? The US government(and idiots like those running the EPA) will find ways to take your money as if you owe them, regardless what you do! :(
