So I ordered up all my gaskets for my oil pump gear / sprocket install for my 2015 GT. The thing is, I went blind and plugged in the gasket numbers from Blazer's OPG install guide on SVT into Tasca and it said they fit my 2015. Reading a little more - someone posted pics online of that part number BR3Z-6584-D and BR3Z-6584-A and they are for the 11-14 valve covers and are notably shorter in height compared to the ER3Z-6584-B and ER3Z-6584-A which are listed for the 2015 models.
Before I return these two valve cover gaskets let me just ask - to those that have pulled their valve covers off before on these 15+ cars.
A: Do I really even need to change the valve cover gasket being that it's rubber and my car has 5k miles / 2 years old?
B: Has anyone used the BR3Z version of gaskets without issue or did you use the ER3Z versions?
The funny thing is, the ER3Z gaskets are about $70/ea online, but I can order the entire valve cover, including that gasket and all the spark plug seals and VCT seals for $50 a side lol... I guess that's a no brainer there if I need to replace my valve cover gaskets.
Let me know your thoughts!
